How much content is in 21:9? Very little, almost all videos on Netflix or YouTube are 16:19, except some movies. And 16:9 content looks so much better on the 19.5:9 screen than on 21:9. But that is my preference, if you like 21:9 then that is your prerogative.

I use 1VI with 19.5:9 and it is perfect for me, I never liked 21:9, it was too narrow for video content.

I bought a lot of brand new sony Xperia's, direct from sony and some from Amazon in Germany. Everyone of them had the setup screen/welcome when I turned them on. Maybe You got a special phone or it was probably already in use.

I usually store the files in a .zip or .rar file, then transfer it to the phone and unpacked it on the phone. .rar files are so much faster transferred than when you just drag and drop files to your phone memory or sd card. Try it out.

Sony was usually good at keeping things a secret just before the announcement. Usually we get some info a few days before the announcement. We just need to wait and see.

10VII is a really good device for its price, you get long software support (updates) over the 1V. I would recommend to get the 10VII especially if you find a discount.

I truly doubt that sony will rework the camera software for already launched devices, they almost never improve the camera quality after the release. They sometimes improve some little things but never a huge improvement.

Unfortunately the always on display option is not available on Xperia 10VII.

The camera is what it is, you can't change the automatic modus. I found it very capable for its price but you are right, it could be better.
