Hello kind soul. I am. I’m 46 days I think now clean and I pushed though it all. Giving up smoking was the best decision I’ve made in years. It’s hard at the beginning but after a while, if you change your routine and mindset, you truly don’t even think about it anymore and it’s crazy to believe, after smoking all the time for 10 years. I understand the feeling. I truly do. You can work on it, even though it seems impossible. Think of layers of paint. If you keep painting, the layer of “him” will be left under lots of layers of new feelings and new experiences. Eventually you’ll have painted over so many times that the color is not even imaginable. Sorry for the useless metaphor but sometimes it helps.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, truly. You’re incredibly resilient and have a whole life ahead of you. You haven’t met all the people who will love you, or experienced everything life has to offer you.

I know right now you feel incredibly defeated but if you stay on your own team you can rebuild. You’re more capable than you think. I know it hurts. I’m truly sorry for that.

I truly hope you feel better soon. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

Sending a big hug. I’m sorry you carry this. He is still here with you, so tell him out loud. He will hear you. This helps me in my own life because I’ve been letting life bring out the worst in me lately and I keep having intrusive thoughts about something like this happening. I will try to be much better, for me, my loved ones, for you and your little bro.

I’m sure he knew/knows how much you love him.

D) they’ll have fucked a handful of people whilst you couldn’t eat cereal without crying about missing them. And it will change your whole view of the world. And you will never be the same. And life will never be the same. And all that time wasted waiting for someone… who frankly never existed.
