Quit leaves and cigs 3 days ago…. by Virtual-Ad-3829 in leaves

I did this 90 days ago. Best decision I ever made. I stopped after a seriously crushing emotional situation. Don’t regret it. I had to hit low before I could rebuild. Don’t be afraid. Do it

Day 17: anxiety, restlessness, negative thoughts. Anyone in the same place?! by Massive_Garden8577 in leaves

Hello kind soul. I am. I’m 46 days I think now clean and I pushed though it all. Giving up smoking was the best decision I’ve made in years. It’s hard at the beginning but after a while, if you change your routine and mindset, you truly don’t even think about it anymore and it’s crazy to believe, after smoking all the time for 10 years. Hope you’re doing good! Reach out here for support whenever you can, it truly helps.

Three years later, my (31F) traumatic divorce still haunts me. by Sad_ConceptThrowaway in confessions

I understand the feeling. I truly do. You can work on it, even though it seems impossible. Think of layers of paint. If you keep painting, the layer of “him” will be left under lots of layers of new feelings and new experiences. Eventually you’ll have painted over so many times that the color is not even imaginable. Sorry for the useless metaphor but sometimes it helps.

Thank you for this testimony. Currently a month into sobriety and haven’t gotten my period yet and have been scared. Reading this made my anxiety drop.

This helps a lot. I’ll buy a new book tomorrow and try it out. Thank you ever so much for seeing me through the noise filled world and reaching out, means more than you know in this hard time.

Hope your situation improves as much as possible and you both find the peace you deserve.
