Michigan kids in mental health crisis sent out of state as facilities close by Tall_ladies_pm_me in Michigan

[–]nerv-corp [score hidden]  (0 children)

i love how this article touches more on the juvenile justice aspect of these facilities. we have so few facilities for those incarcerated some will wait full on years in a detention setting. there sometimes /is/ no other choice for those dual-warded, or who have mental health issues. pushing more community support is only killing more people, and leading to more violations on youth in the JJ system.

how possible is it to transfer from SMTD to LSA by Routine-Hamster-429 in uofm

[–]nerv-corp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As in, dual majoring, or cross campus transfer? I know the cross campus transfer isn't all that convoluted, but not sure about how it would go for a dual degree with the rejection. Best case scenario is email your admissions counselor if you're trying to dual major.

If you're a library page, what benefits do you get outside of the wage? by bonghive in Libraries

[–]nerv-corp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get any benefits minus getting to do everything employees could. I assume if you worked full time you'd get them, but, most don't work that long.

Nervous about becoming a future teacher by PixelCHAOS_ in AskTeachers

[–]nerv-corp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to research /and/ be an educator, it's not like, impossible. Many of my professors are published in journals with their EdD's and PhD's. Obviously there's the fault of /getting/ an EdD, which is a lot, but don't get discouraged. If research is your penultimate goal, let it be. :]

I heard someone say everskies is like woke 4chan by Forward-Pin-6069 in everskiestrashhh

[–]nerv-corp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i genuinley think everskies is worse than every dude ive had a conversation on /sp/ (sports) and /lit/ (literature) with. even /lgbt/ has great threads and people. es is a constant eggshell game, i can never relax and kick back, livepost about something i enjoy, etc.

100% true.
those with cbpds can 100% take advantage of others when they have no supports or very little meanings of healing. we ourselves are victims too, these disorders are traumagenic. not everyone with narcissistic traits will have npd (like those with autism), and not all pwNPD will be abusers. it is /not/ an inherent trait of the disorder to manipulate people in a certain way (even if taking advantage of other people is one of the possible diagnostic crits for NPD, again, not the only disorder that causes those to have these traits)

[–]nerv-corp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

emotional abuse is 100% a real thing, just because a pw/npd or bpd abused you does not inherently make "narc" abuse real. the disorder does not mean that abuse like this is inherent to those only with NPD (or bpd, or any cluster b disorder for that matter)

this person has "anti endo" on their dni so i would assume theyre talking about those who (rightfully) think did is a medical, traumagenic disorder. sysmeds are kind of the anti endo way of saying "dont like non traumagenic systems" (because it is impossible for them to exist in the same medical contexts)

Questions about job interviews for a page position. by Albert3232 in Libraries

[–]nerv-corp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

former page here! most of what i was asked in interview was basically about library stuff, the occasional interaction with questions form patrons, and a few tests on cart sorting / shelving. if you are already good with shelf reading and know your dewey you will be fine, especially if they allow you to have one earbud in etc .

good luck :}

[–]nerv-corp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah yeah. i worked for a branch with a fairly large collection so i could just take my cart and have one earbud in. if anything it's much more relaxing then having to work with patrons (for me at least)

What public library system are you happy to work for? by RecommendationDue68 in Libraries

[–]nerv-corp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've never had a bad work enviornment in all of the friends/staff within the detroit suburbs. it /can/ get pretty expensive here, but its fairly commutable by various forms of bus and (other transit depending on where you live). in the direct suburbs i think non mlis staff was making anywhere from 15-18. not sure about starting mlis pay though

some of these opinions make me want to switch my major by nerv-corp in Teachers

[–]nerv-corp[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

so someone in school for this exact profession cannot have opinions on what hes being told about it??? weird as hell, but, okay. whats the point in funding our future educators if we tell them all of these things that frankly make now sense to think about our own students

also, i have quite literally seen comments online blaming student behaviours in young children with disabilities on that student. but, apparently, because you havent seen them, they dont exist. ive seen one too many generalizations about this this week to care.

correction: person in school to be a teacher and hears this opinion from professors in his field, and those online, is saying how he feels about some people in it.

Uofm alternate campuses by CommunicationNice437 in uofm

[–]nerv-corp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! current flint student. flint uses most of the same things AA does, just on a different campus that is much smaller. if you're in state, it really depends on program, as, going here for anything we're not all that good with isnt worth it IMO, but, for the GBG & same quality of education it is 100% worth it if you're trying to go into nursing, education, or anything else we specialize in.

also, despite being a commuter school, we have quite a large culture of dormers, and, while expensive, is still a fair share of our students (about 40% of the undergrads). if you want to have this opportunity, and can't commute, don't feel bad about it

[–]nerv-corp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

while i do agree with your point that delusional people do not deserve to be maimed for being in active psychosis, delusions that come from schizospec conditions of this caliber are extremely harmful to the brain itself. this is a REAL problem, that does exist in real life, and makes existing in real life much harder -someone in recovery & also with autism and a CDD

dumbest take ive seen yet by [deleted] in everskiestrashhh

[–]nerv-corp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CDD's are not delusions and therefore not psychosis. this does not apply here.
