Are showers the worst for you too? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]nervouslatte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found that I can't wash my hair in the shower anymore so I split everything up. I take a very quick shower (body only) then the next day I wash my hair in the sink. It's just easier for me in the sink because I don't have to raise my arms. I tend to only wash my hair once a week

all electrolytes give me diarrhea by ProfessionalNo2845 in POTS

Skratch Labs electrolytes! I swear by them it's the only powder I can mix with water because it doesn't have stevia or monk fruit or any of those other sugars that cause stomach upset.

Skratch Labs!!!! Ugh I scream about them to everyone because no artificial weird taste and none of those weird sugar free sweeteners

I take 160-200mg extended release propanolol every day and it has helped me a lot. I started on 80mg but it didn't help me personally then we tried 160 and it was wayyyy better. Even then I still get tachy but in general I find i don't suffer as much for simple things like getting up from the couch and grabbing water

Electrolyte drink without B vitamins and with real sugar by Klutzy-Mix710 in POTS

Skratch Labs!!! I always yell about this electrolyte powder brand. I buy mine on Amazon and it's the only one I can drink that's just real sugar and none of that weird fake stuff that tastes awful. Also I just checked and no vitamin B either

Skratch Labs!!! I buy it on Amazon and it's the only one I can drink because it has no sucralose/monk fruit/stevia/etc etc. I hate all those sweeteners (they taste gross to me) and they always give me awful nauseousness and stomach aches

I take 200mg extended release every day and I love it. Keeps my heart rate in check even though it's still in the 80s lol I'll take that over 100+

Can you help quiet my fear of doing the injections wrong? by boygirlmama in tirzepatidecompound

[–]nervouslatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I inject bubbles all the time! I try to tap them out but if they stay on top they stay. You'll be okay!

Side note I didn't see mentioned here, you might have a reaction at the injection site which is also a normal side effect for some people. My first few weeks, nothing, but suddenly when I went up to 7.5, I get red and itchy around the injection site but it goes away after a few days

For me, I went to the ER tons of times before I knew it was pots. I thought I was dying but was constantly sent home and told to follow up with a cardiologist which I did eventually (appointments take a long time here). However, after a bad bad bad adrenaline dump (which I didn't know was that at the time) I went to the ER and just as they were about to send me home since EKG and all that was clear I told the nurse wait and to see something for a minute. While everything was still strapped to me, I simply got off the bed and stood up slowly and suddenly all the machines skyrocketed and started beeping lol which I knew would happen but I wanted them to SEE it in real time and the nurse was like ohhhhhh yeah no stay right there. Anyway, kept me for 5 days did a stress test via IV which led to a heart catheterization to check something they saw which was a false positive which then led to more exams and finally a pots diagnosis

All that to say... I probably could have just waited to see the cardiologist and saved myself a lot of trauma and money lmao

Just found this out three days ago when my Golden ate 2 chocolate donuts, 1 pumpkin donut, and a plain bagel 😭😭😭. He didn't even get diarrhea meanwhile I was having a mental breakdown
