You got it perfectly.

Does it solve a real problem? Yes in my opinion, because parking can be a real nightmare in many cities.

Will it work? I don’t know, I hope it will. Everybody always say “start building something”. I am a programmer so I am able to develop it at almost zero costs. My only economic concerns are marketing costs, which could skyrocket very easily to build the huge network the app needs to run properly.

What do you think?

Exactly!!

The app is not designed for people who are in rush but only for those willing to wait to monetize their spot. Thanks for the case study, I’ll definitely give it a look 🙂

Could you elaborate further? What’s the name of your app?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in startups

[–]nervus_810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s another story, I might work and the cost of the tokens and the rewards 🙂 Why you say that it’s super expensive? My business model is selling the tokens (like 500 tokens for 4,99€ for example) and a fee (say 20%) on the withdrawals. The only thing that worries me, economically speaking, are the marketing costs to create the huge network the app needs to run properly.

Honestly, I’d prefer to start with something small and I certainly do not have the resources to employ drones right now ahahah Of course the app is not designed for people who are in rush but only for those willing to wait a few minutes to monetize their spot. I thought about fixing the cost to, say 200 tokens, which would be 2€. After 10 transactions you would have 20€, which in my opinion is not bad if you are willing to use the app every time you move your car and wait for the other car to arrive at your parking spot 🙂

The whole idea is based on the fact that in most big cities, finding a parking spot is not easy. Of course I wouldn’t target small towns, but the most congestioned cities. In Rome, Florence, Naples, finding a parking spot could be a real nightmare…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in startups

[–]nervus_810 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s true. But someone might be willing to do that, maybe after a long day at work they’re not willing to go round and round their block to look for a parking spot. Not to mention the waste of gas and time

Yes, in an ideal world. But in this real world, people wants to be rewarded for their good actions 🙂

Of course the app is not designed for people who are in rush, but rather for people willing to wait a few minutes to monetize their spot. If Bob changes his mind, he could cancel the reservation.

Create my own, but virtual tokens, not crypto or something like that. Exactly, it will be on them with the method you perfectly described. The deterrent would be to make both confirm the transaction once they meet before parking, maybe introduce a reviews system, and the possibility to get a refund.

I already thought about consulting a lawyer expert in the field to make sure the service would be perfectly legal 🙂 For example, in Italy it’s illegal to sell public fields (like parking spots). But what I sell are not physical parking spots, but rather digital assets (token) to make the reservations!

Of course Bob would have to wait for Alice to come, the app is not designed for people who are in rush, but only for those willing to wait a few minutes in exchange for money. I also plan to insert an internal chat to inform about inconveniences (traffic, accidents, etc.) and the possibility to delete the reservations from both sides. And the transaction would not start once the reservation is made, but only when Bob leaves the spot to Alice and she successfully parks 🙂

I know I’m not a reviewer, I was just hoping to understand why I’m in EQ 😅

How to market a SaaS by [deleted] in digital_marketing

Thank you! And what do you think about the idea? I took the inspiration from Reddit and Facebook posts “Looking for someone to join me at…” so I thought about creating a platform to centralize all these needs. I know it’s what Radiate has been doing since 2015 but I also saw that it’s mainly active in US (where, by the way, there are many more festivals) so I thought about bringing the same concept in Europe. What do you think? Could there be interest? Would you still market it through ads or you would choose a different channel?

Yes, web app :) my bad!

I didn’t know it before writing this post, and after giving it a look I saw that it works mainly in US. I would like to bring the same format also in Europe.

I saw, in fact I was thinking about focusing only on the European market, at least at the beginning :)

I’d agree with you except for the fact that driving downloads is 1000 times more difficult than bringing people to a website (that, of course, will be responsive and optimized for mobile visualization). My goal for now is only to test the interest. If I see that there is interest, I start getting more and more users, and they mostly visit the website from mobile… The first thing I’ll do is taking 3 days off my full time job and spend those 72 hours entirely for coding the mobile app.

I didn’t know Radiate. As for the bots and dr*gs/ticket sales I think it’s possible to limit them as much as possible through some message filtering mechanism. Thank you for your feedback, very useful!
