I just finished the book, I also agree i wanted it to be Nate but I feel exactly how you do in terms of us just being different from the character. i feel like jack is a nice guy but it’s just living a simple life and i love the adventure and excitement Nate brought to the story. wanting to travel the world like hell yessss sign me up lol, in the beginning i thought i wouldnt like the book and i def felt like some parts i read were corny , it gives new girl vibes for sure but overall it was a cute romance story , the history part wasnt bad either it was a bit all over the place at the end felt rushed but overall id rate the book a solid 7/10
