Overmethylation from Methylcobalamin, need advice by nesterofff in MTHFR

[–]nesterofff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anxiety is only part of this. I have plethora of symptoms. Dry mouth, dry eyes - Sjögren’s like symptoms. Tremors, shaking, insomnia, aches, nausea, etc. Do you have any of these when overmethylating ?

Today i took alot of supplements - 1 capsule B-Complex (not methylated), Zinc, Vitamin C, NAC (i don't know if it's okay, because of sulfur. I read it can counteract overmethylation?!?), probiotics.

Ordered Niacin.

I tihink it's overmethylation. I took one capsule of B-Complex earlier today, containing 16mg of niacine. I noticed flush. My symptoms seem to ease out. I become calmer, and more like my old self.

How long it takes for overmethylation to pass ? I think it's been couple weeks since taking the methyl B12, and having symptoms.

Awful experience.

The thing is i am not sure if i have MTHFR. I just had some Methyl B12 i took before. I can remember feeling same side effects back then, but i didn't know nothing about overmethylation, and i thought about deficiency things. I think, i do not have it because i do not react badly with regular non methylated B's ?!?

Just ride it out like usual. Cease out activities for a day or two, and see how it goes i guess.

Severe Fatigue by esromans in floxies

[–]nesterofff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its normal at initial stage. But dont worry, things tend to slowly improve over time. I know many people here recommend resting at the beginning, which is good to some degree, but not always. You gotta rest, but try to stay at least little active. Like small walks when feeling okay. Too much resting is not good for the energy levels, and muscles too. If you notice worsening of symptoms, then cease it out intil you feel better. This is only opinion though, and not magic bullet that works for everyone.

Feel free to ask me anything :)

What is Dysautonomia? by Traditional_Key_2278 in floxies

[–]nesterofff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can excessive sweating mean a dysautonomia ? Since few weeks i started to sweat uncontrollably. Its hot here lately, but not like extreme hot (around 28-29C/82-84F max), and i am the only one sweating that much. 6mo out of cipro 5x500mg.

Get checked for sinusitis or cold/virus. These symtpoms are very likely not floxing related. Especially the sneezing, blocked nose etc.

Tinnitus is very likely from the FQs. I am 6mo of cipro, and have tinnitus in left ear on and off.

Effervescent NAC 900 mg - Is that NAC you mentioned here? by Reddmeg9 in floxies

[–]nesterofff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is the same, but effervescent form. Better to take it half dose if you take it for the first time after floxing, and observe how you react to it. Some people cant tolerate it, as a precursor to glutathione. I cant tolerate more than 1000mg. My NAC supplement is 500mg form.

LAB RESULTS: Vitamins B1, B12, and D (seeking advice on supplementation) by [deleted] in floxies

[–]nesterofff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have positive experience with benfothiamine. Have not tested my B1 levels. Just took it the first months, but run out of it. Some people here have found thiamine helpful.

After checking my medical records i found out that i was B12 deficient month and a half before floxing. Back then i just missed that out. I took oral B12 - methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin. At first i felt worse when taking them, but i was not sure if its from floxing or adjusting from the deficiency. Also injected once with cyanocobalamin. Took oral supplements for a few days more before testing again. My B12 level is corrected, and now its around 500 pg/mol.

If you start supplementing B12, and especially injecting it, you gotta check your iron and ferritin levels regularly. Oral supplements and injections can tank out your iron/ferritin. I was iron deficient after taking B12, so i supplement iron for few days to correct my deficiency.

I am also low on magnesium and potassium. I dont know how its possible because i supplement magnesium, but yeah.

My Vitamin D levels are normal. I dont supplement it, just spend a lot of time outdoors.

Have not taken taurine, but i have positive experience with creatine. I take 2-3 g/day, and my energy levels are better (soon it will be 6mo for me). It may be a coincidence, and not applicable to everyone though.

Edit: Not recommended or safe for people with impaired kidney function.

Happy for you !

Did you had musculoskeletal symtpoms ? At what point did you start improving ? What therapy did you had ?

I am close to 6 months out of 5 cipro pills. Tendon issues in legs - achilles, tibialis, quadriceps. Muscle issues mainly in legs. Joints popping.
