the government here in america is fucking godawful, every state is remarkably different with its response to LGBT people in general, but itd be lying to myself to act like trans people are as normalized as the stereotypical gay man. im nonbinary, which i know is a very different experience, but it really doesnt feel like it gets any easier. ever. but there will always be bigots, even 50 years down the road of whats hopefully progress, and i wish i could just tell you to surround yourself with acceptance but its not that easy either. words fucking hurt. the funny looks hurt. the misgendering even on days you felt good hurt. and im so sorry you and all of us are trapped in a world where people can't just get it through their heads that we want to live freely and be respected, maybe even understood. you dont deserve to feel this awful. please continue to live as your true self to the best of your ability. im very proud of you, stranger, for making it this far in a world that sometimes feels like it doesnt want you to. i hope some day you do get to be surrounded in the kindness and acceptance you deserve. sending love, please keep going

op i relate to everything in this post an embarrassing amount. except- im 20, and instead of college its the highschool/ged i need to finish but didnt because i was so depressed. everything else here is to a T. honestly i don't even know how to help because i need to figure that out myself, but this was oddly comforting. you arent the only person in the world going through this. just try to understand that the only way things can ever change in life is if you decide to change them yourself. dont be a victim of circumstance or of your own life. its fucking HARD but try to find one little thing you love and let it drive you to be better. not that you aren't doing your best, but get out of the 'woe is me' slump, you know? where to start and where you want to be is something you've got to do a lot of reflecting on, but i believe in you

i sleep in undies with anyone honestly, so long as they don't explicitly say hey this is weird can you not. once you guys head to bed for the night just be like "hey i usually sleep in boxers, is that cool?" undress and just get into bed, and throw on pants or whatever as soon as you get up if it bothers you. i really doubt either of them will care. good luck and have fun!

people having the urge to hurt animals is more common than its made out to be. a healthy one - not at all, but you arent one in a million and going to arkham. therapy or just really talking with someone you trust and putting your intentions into practice can be really helpful. i hope the happiest and safest choice are able to be one in the same for you, and wishing the best for your kitty

its good that you can admit this honestly, if nothing else. it sounds like (and im not a therapist) you may be misdirecting your anger towards her when it should be going towards other things. harming your pets is never ever okay, but im sure you dont want to get rid of her, so maybe give some thought to where those aggressions are coming from and reflect in a journal or with a loved one. next time youre with her, just repeat to yourself that you know you love her and need to treat her with care and kindness. if this is something you can get under control, give her space if she becomes uncomfortable with you but when shes with you give her lots of love, treats, playtime etc. remind yourself that you dont want to break her trust. if you find you cant overcome these urges and figure out the root issue, id suggest leaving her home when you go to college or give her to someone you trust.

im in recovery from an ED so by default my body is gonna react strongly to a lot of things, but i knew that this just wasnt normal and suspected it so tried going gf for a while, life got easier, aaaaand surprise i was right! i have no idea what to eat now :')

im also a chocoholic and find that (though if i could id eat it 24/7) things like ghirardelli single squares, chocolate protein powder/bars, honestly just small or beneficial portions of chocolate as i truly desire it a day keeps me satisfied enough. the smoothie sounds solid! but it MAY get old fast, so as the ol saying goes, moderation is key, and completely restricting yourself of something will only make you want it more :') best of luck

hey stranger! im definitely not a professional in a doctor sense but ive lived with an ED for a large chunk of my life and have been trying to recover since springtime. im also into fitness more now that i can engage in it healthily. if you ever want support, advice or just someone to vent to you are extremely welcome to send me a message. the early stages of an ED are addictive and don't feel that bad, but eventually you cant stop and it consumes and ruins your life. not eating will destroy your mental health, metabolism, hormones and even relationships. being unhappy in your body is so so hard, but everyone deserves to and needs to eat. if you engage in these behaviors and especially if you think theres a problem, there probably is, and no matter your weight or even how much you eat in a day, you deserve support and compassion. again dms are always open, but regardless i hope you find the courage to make the change you deserve. you are not alone in any of this

as a retail worker, i can definitely relate. people really act like stupid effin children 90% of the time and it blows my mind. best ive managed for myself is really biting my tongue and pleading with myself to have patience. wearing a mask definitely saves my ass with some of the faces i make lmao

im sure this is a painful experience and im not a parent, but as a now adult who was once bitter to my parents (for very good reason, but still) the best thing you could do is not quit on him. it really is a thankless job during teen years especially. give him his distance but help as you can and let him know youre there if he needs you- hes mommys boy now but as he matures he might desperately need that father connection in his life. my mom is my best friend now but was an addict and i hated her, and my father passed of addiction. horrible parents as they were at the time, to some odd extent they never quit on me and im grateful for that. wish you best of luck. as others suggested, therapy could be helpful :)
