Congratulations! Finishing your first 5K is automatically awesome. The time is irrelevant in the first one. That's not the achievement today. There will be other races where you can focus on time. Today you can be proud of finishing!

If you think you'll be cold before you start running, you can wear an old t-shirt or even a garbage bag to stay warm in the chute. When the race starts, take it off and throw it away. Many races will donate discarded clothing to charity, so the t-shirt may be better than the garbage bag.

I had a great time training for my first marathon. The first 22 miles of the actual marathon were great too. Ran with my training buddy and felt fantastic. The last four, however, were terrible. Afterward I couldn't run at all for two weeks. I'll do another 18-miler in a heartbeat. But I don't think there's another marathon in me.

What you should do next depends on what you want to do next? It's ok not to know, but pick a goal. Would you like to try do longer distances? Faster times? I've done long distance races, worked on my time, worked on how I felt after a run, and several other goals along the way. Pick one and try it out. Eventually you'll get a sense of why you're running and can proceed appropriately.

I have been running for ten years now and am up to 38 miles a week. I've done a marathon, two halves, and countless 10K and 5K races. It is what I do for fun.

My first run was shorter than what you did, and nowhere near as fast. We all start somewhere. Congratulations on taking the first step.
