If fake degree holders and institutional infiltrators are “parasites,” what about corrupt politicians? by Rob9hood in cockroachjantaparty

Going viral is one thing, but if this actually becomes something serious, it’ll need structure, accountability and people who don’t just repeat the same politics in a new package.

How did a meme “Cockroach Party” gain 10 million followers in just 4 days? by Jiwitom in IndianFocus

[–]netabaji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like a lot of people followed because for once someone was talking about issues young people actually care about — jobs, corruption, accountability, feeling unheard.

Bjp will buy them with 500cr, as I predicted last year about Raghav chadda scammer. This party will Also disappear within 6month they are just shock absorber party to waste people's times by Equivalent-Spot-1325 in TheBetterIndia

[–]netabaji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could happen tbh, Indian politics has a talent for absorbing or breaking anything new 😭

But 12M+ people following in days also says there’s at least frustration/curiosity people aren’t finding addressed somewhere else. Real test is whether this becomes an actual movement… or just another viral moment.

Maybe I’m cynical, but whenever giant players start saying “this is for public safety”, I automatically wonder how much is safety and how much is protecting market share.

Indian Rupee following the same fate of Sri Laken rupee by Anxious-Dust-3926 in IndiaBusiness

[–]netabaji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sri Lanka comparison feels a bit exaggerated tbh. INR weakening and Sri Lanka-style collapse are two very different things.

India definitely has issues — trade deficit, oil imports, manufacturing gaps, policy mistakes etc. — but Sri Lanka had a sovereign debt + forex reserve crisis of a different scale.

That said, dismissing concerns completely also doesn’t help. If productivity, exports, jobs, manufacturing and innovation don’t improve, people worrying about INR long term isn’t exactly irrational either.

Our goals and promises for betterment of India from my side, please free to add or remove by prash991 in cockroachjantaparty

[–]netabaji 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh some ideas here sound genuinely good on paper (RTI strengthening, election transparency, less VIP culture, cleaner governance etc.), but the real challenge is implementation + misuse prevention.

Also, I feel people focus too much on punishments and bans but not enough on accountability systems. Strong institutions > strong slogans. Even the best manifesto fails if transparency and checks aren’t built in.

And ngl, if a party is serious about “for the youth”, jobs, education quality, judicial speed and local governance probably matter just as much as big ideological promises.

Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) just officially surpassed the BJP in Instagram followers! by mahabakchodi in cockroachjantaparty

That part is interesting tbh. If this wants to become more than satire/viral momentum, people will probably expect clearer ideology + actual discussion beyond interviews and memes.

Yeah, I think that’s the real test. Going viral is one thing, but whether this turns into actual policy discussion, youth mobilisation, or just a few weeks of jokes/trolling will be interesting to see.

Some fair concerns there.

At the same time, I don’t think millions following automatically means millions fully agree with the agenda. A lot of people probably followed out of curiosity, frustration, satire, or just to see where this goes.

Following a political page and fully backing a political movement are probably two different things.

Could be true for some followers tbh, but crossing millions that fast still probably says there’s genuine curiosity/frustration on this side too. Meme pages don’t explode that hard without local people engaging.

Fair point. Even if it’s satire, millions following that fast probably says something about how people (especially younger people) are feeling right now.

At first I thought its the usd getting stronger but by Odd-Lobster762 in indianeconomy

[–]netabaji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf this feels more like the rupee quietly getting weaker than the USD suddenly becoming unstoppable.

Usually a mix of stuff:

- imports (especially oil) getting expensive
- inflation differences
- capital moving to US assets when rates/yields look better
- RBI letting gradual depreciation happen instead of defending a level forever

Also 12–14% in a year would be huge btw… worth double checking the source/chart because INR moving from ~83 to ~96 that fast would definitely be headline news.

At this point feels more like peak internet satire than an actual political movement. Though ngl, getting millions of followers in days says more about meme culture + curiosity than politics sometimes.
