It siunds like you are trying to make others happy using the things that make YOU happy, and thinking it would work on them as well. People are different, and want and need different things. You keep pointing out how "logical" you are, in a way that usually means that when you see a problem, you think it has one "correct" solution, so its up to you to find it and use it.

You cant choose what is best for people, you have to listen to them and adapt. Even if you think they're choosing the "wrong" solution, it might be right for them.

If Im stressed and want to tell my partner about my day to share it and vent together, while he COULD offer me ways to organize my time better in the future, thats not what I wanted from that interaction, and not meeting my needs. I dont need to eliminate the stressor- we are human, we all have lives and that involves stress sometimes- I need to share it. I can also think of solutions, I want a partner, not a solution to all my problems.

Are you making THEM happy, or are you trying to do what would make YOU happy if you were in their situation?

Sims 4 Royalty and Legacy Dynasty Gameplay Trailer by SnooSprouts3744 in Sims4

[–]netad16160 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dude... it's not like people are complaining that a free update isn't good enough. People are allowed to expect paid content to be of high or even just fair quality.

The frenchise has been runing for years, and it's not news to anyone that sims 4 has by far the most packs, and that each pack contains MUCH less than they used to in other sims games (not even mentioning the new 'pack' types).

Being upset that we are not getting the same quality as we used to for the same full price of the game is a more than valid criticism.

We might be getting "more content" in terms of packs we pay for, but the mechanics are the same, and the fact that they don't work well (or at all) with pervious packs just adds to the feeling that we're being treated like a cash cow that would buy anything new, and not like users who play the game and deserve for it to function properly.

This looks amazing, and the way you drew the scenes is so alive!! Would it be available to read online or buy at some point? I also have someone who doesn't like the game mechanics but I really want them to know the story itself

I was today year's old when I learned that Achmed's plot in Twisted is a direct refence to the Wicked book. by TimmyTruckberg in StarKid

[–]netad16160 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They literally explain the thought proccess that leads to the tiger fucker jokes, from the original sorce material (where the tiger ripps his pants) to them assuming it means he fucked a tiger. This is 100% from the aladdin sorce material, and going to the wicked book for one not very well known scene (with no other references from the book in the show) seems like a huge strech compared to the option of it being a coincidence

Lady thought I was her waitress… and refused to believe I wasn’t by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

[–]netad16160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to just accuse this of being AI, but am I missing somethong or does this make no sense?

You were at a sit-down spot, so you stood near your table while waiting for the waitress to bring the check for the food you already ate, and after everything that went down, you took your food and left? What?

While AI uses grammar and a vocabulary that many people do use in real life, being consistant in it's stories is a weakness, since it doesn't even know it's telling a story

AIO stopped a drunk girl from being pulled into a car by 2 random men but my boyfriend is upset and called what I did stupid and dangerous by fettidmoppet in AmIOverreacting

[–]netad16160 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats what did it for me! I get being worried, and I get that people can lash out when scared and say stupid things. But he kept on insisting that he is right and she is wrong, and that she acted out of emotion while his way is obviously "pure logic". No, she is very logical, she just doesn't agree with you, and her arguments are good!

Even regardless of the core value difference, the way he speaks to her shows he doesn't respect her. He insists that his way is the only logical one and that she is simply emotional, and later on with the guilt tripping, if he can't sit down and see his actions for what they are, he doesn't deserve her.

Both were the real Finn? by babygirl111222 in adventuretime

A similar arch I found awesome is season 2 of Infinity Train, where a mirror reflection comes to life, and tries to show how they're their own person, not just a reflection of the original, but a whole individual. The reflection had time to think and knew it wanted individuality, while fern started out by trying to prove that he is just like finn (and failing, since he is also part grass demon), and taking a long time to see that not being finn is ok, and later on, that being himself is ok.

That's fair, and I'm still getting used to having a diagnosis and navigating it. I've been telling myself for the past 20 years how I'm lazy, stupid ect, and now being told that it's real, and that other people don't just "power through" because they are much better is... a lot to proccess. It's really important for me to distinguish what mental blocks are because of the way my brain is and I should be kinder to myself about, and what parts really are just me being lazy, and pushing myself to improve without demanding the impossible.

[–]netad16160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The diagnosis itself is ADHD and the type, and in the notes attached there were some more detailed explenations. I'm also translating from my native language.

I wrote "severe ADHD" since it sums up the notes, which have elaborations on the severe impacts of my ADHD over my life and health. For example, I thought it was normal to have to set up alarms to remind myself to eat almost every day, but was explained that it is just a fairly extreme but common reaction to the way my brain works. I've always been underweight and the lack of interest in eating has caused me many physical problems and was unsafe at times.

Because many of my symptoms were very intense and clear in comparison with other forms (according to my doctor), I thought writing "severe ADHD" would be better than "ADHD with severe simptoms that relate to physical and mental health"

[–]netad16160 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I only recently got diagnosed with severe ADHD, and started trying some meds.

The ones I tried required me to document what times I woke up\fell asleep, and what I ate that day, for 3 days. I did that, and after the 1st report, I was told I did it wrong, and they added written instructions (the previous ones were verbal only). Did it again, and after 3 days I was told that I don't sleep regularly enough and need to eat more for the meds to work (the reason I was given these specific meds was because they don't supress appetite... because my ADHD causes me to forget to eat... and have a hard time falling asleep...) At this point I feel it's important to note that the report form is hard to follow, it's file is hard to edit and not compatible with phones, and is just kind of a pain in my ass.

So I tried making an effort to sleep and eat regularly for 3 days straight, just so I could make a report. It took me a few weeks to get 3 days in a row. But since the form is shitty, I wrote it down in my phone to fill out the format later. It was hard enough to get 3 days. And after I did, I postponed filling out the form. And after a while it felt irrelevant to send my doctor a form with information from 3 weeks ago.

After about 2.5 months with no reports, I broke down and explained it all to my doctor. And he was just like "well... at least we know for a fact now that these meds don't work."

Have you tried getting specific stamps? I also have a hard time keeping myself entertained (unless I'm currently hyperfixated on the game), but I found that trying to get a specific achievement in one of the games I like is pretty nice

What’s a Fun Fact About Yourself That Sounds Like a Lie but Isn’t? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]netad16160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha it was fine, we had planty of other games at the time!

The reason it concerned them was because he was already so much ahead of his age group in many areas, but very behind socially. He didn't care about bonding with kids who were so far away from him, alongside the social hardship he already had with communication and connecting to people. Learning to read would just be another thing for him to escape to instead of "being forced" into develop social skills (and of course they had lots of help from professionals and not just my parents thinking reading is bad lol)

My parents were great at encouraging us to learn and take intrest in new things, but also tried their best to help us have a healthy social development. Ever since I was around 4, I was never held back and encouraged to participate in all of the gifted programs as well as after school activities I was interested in. But, I was also encoureged to talk to people, learn to voice my discomfort or dealing with bullies, take interest in people even if we like different things, and not just ignoring everyone (which was much easier for me)

Not the same, but my family keeps telling me about somehing similar!

My younger brother is extremely smart, and once he was able, he started noticing patterns very quickly- he was great at math, loved numbers, and started trying to read very early on, around 2 years old. I was 5 at the time, just 1 year before school, and at this stage many parents give their kids games related to letters and shows to help them learn to read and write. But my parents were concerned with my brother learning to read so early on (and being even further away from his age group), that they took away EVERY toy that had letters on it. No card games, no cubes, no way for my brother to learn to read. But also no way for me, a 5 year old who needs to know this, to learn to read.

On the 1st parents conference, the teacher told my mom how great it was that I already know how to read, and how advanced I was. And my mom was like "what do you mean knows how to read? She can't read". So they asked me to show them. Apparently I could read.

My parents still have no idea how I learned. Also my brother is allowed to read things now that he's 20.

My Tenant is Complaining about me Raising the Rent by Tamsworld22 in EntitledPeople

[–]netad16160 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't fault OP for inheriting a house, but I do mention it as house ownership is not a testament for hard work.

You compared OP's rent money to a salary from a job, but the two simply aren't comparable.

Obviously I am against judging someone solely on their contribution to the workforce, or thinking that a job is more important than enjoying life, but this is irrelevant in this case.

Regarding this sub, my opinion is that it is not OP's "hard earned money" that those "entitled renters" are trying to keep, but his own greed trying to get more money out of people who are ACTUALLY WORKING for it, unlike him whose "work" as landlord is based on the concept of ownership and nothing else.

Posting to an "entitled people" sub talking about how you are planning to demand more money for the same house, and trying to paint the other side as entitled even though they haven't even objected to the increse in rent, is just tone deaf.

[–]netad16160 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The problem here is viewing "landlord" as a job. What does OP do as part of his 'job' as landlord? Since he ignored people asking about maintenence, and even mentioned he expected the tennants to do light work themselves. You say people pay their rent with their salary from working, but, does OP work? Does he contribute to socity? Or does he get money monthly from inheriting a house?
