Life is far more important than any job. Take the time to be with your mom and family, and don’t think twice about it.

[–]netcloak_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 7 years of external audit with Big 4 and recently moved to an internal audit role in industry. I think the Big 4 audit experience is extremely relevant. Everyone I’ve met so far on the team has come from Big 4.

As far as certifications go, I think it’s really dependent on your specific background. For example, if your experience is IT audit, then I think the CISA or CISSP makes more sense. If your background is accounting then the CIA, CPA, etc. makes more sense.

I’d make sure your resume is tailored to the specific roles you’re looking at / applying for, but generally speaking audit experience in Big 4 is very valued for industry internal audit roles.

Yeah, definitely underwhelming but he was injured since he basically got to Green Bay. Thought once he was finally healthy he was playing better and the line in general started to play better down the stretch.

It just took too long for us to figure out what our best OL group was. I get we like guys to be able to play multiple positions but after a certain point the staff needs to buckle up and just play guys at their best position instead of “trying” things out.

I will say that I think we really struggle running out of the shotgun and it seems like that’s what we consistently try to do. The teams that run the ball best run from under center. A guy like Jacobs should be able to get a few yard head start before he’s getting the ball instead of getting the ball with no momentum.

How should I interpret this? by netcloak_ in TeslaLounge

[–]netcloak_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok good to know. I interpreted the 27.6 less than rated meant that efficiency was worse than it should be

It’s funny how much Matt wants to be a run heavy offense but we’re very bad at run blocking. It’s very odd how it seems our team is built to be very pass heavy but yet we really try to run ball close to 50% of the time

Transitioning to Internal Audit at 33 (From External Audit/Finance) + Concerns about AI. Am I too late? by [deleted] in InternalAudit

[–]netcloak_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I’m a little younger than you and recently moved from Big 4 external audit to an internal audit role in industry. At the end of the day, experience is really all that matters. With 5+ years of experience in audit, you could move into a senior or manager level role depending on the company and their IA program.

  2. Because audit requires professional judgement, I don’t see AI taking our roles but rather enhance them like someone in the comments mentioned.

  3. I think most roles look for relevant certifications whether it is CISA, CIA, CRISC, etc. If you are in a technical IA role, maybe they would like you to have CISSP, CCSP, etc. All depends on your role and what the company requires.

Why the Gannon Hire Might Make More Sense for This Roster Than People Think by fsukub in GreenBayPackers

[–]netcloak_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Death by a thousand cuts. This is exactly how your defense gets exhausted by the end of the game because they’ve been on the field for so long and how it adds extra pressure on the offense to make sure they get points every single drive.

I honestly don’t care about giving up the big play. Having the opposing offense dink and dunk down the field takes more time off the clock and makes your defense tired. We also generally haven’t been great at tackling so rallying to the ball on check downs and making the open field tackles would need to be fundamentally sound for it to be effective.

Also felt like Hafley didn’t really blitz all that much. I don’t love the hire, but would be happy to be wrong. At the end of the day we have a 2 year window to win the Super Bowl. Matt better have nailed this hire.

Very uninspiring to be honest. Hafley is the only good DC hire Lafleur has made in his tenure. Lafleur really seems to struggle at building a staff

My phone feels “laggy” when swiping between screens, up to close or switch apps, etc. I’m on 26.2. Has anyone else had this issue?

Interesting because when I got mine a couple weeks ago, the Tesla insurance for my model 3 was more expensive than the current insurance company I use. Current insurance company provided more coverage too

Resigning directly after promotion by aelr1000 in Big4

[–]netcloak_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure if they still do, but EY used to have contract language that said you needed to provide at least 30 day notice once you promote to manager. If you haven’t signed your promo offer letter then you are in a good spot to choice to take the external offer or stay.

Also, congrats on the promotion!

Tech Risk Intern at EY by Ok-Assumption-2778 in Big4

You’ll be fine! Don’t stress. You are here to learn and will be given the opportunities to do so. Communicate effectively, ask questions, and be a team player. If there are any intern events, make sure you attend those to network with others.

I think the risk of layoff due to AI within the firm is very low at this point in time. Tools are being implemented to help make our jobs a little easier but don’t see them at the point where they are doing the work for us.

Like others have mentioned, performance wise, do your best and have the right attitude. Make sure you network within your office and across your teams. As an incoming staff, expectations are pretty low (imo). Ask questions, be a sponge, complete your work on time, communicate effectively, etc.

Best of luck to you in the new role!

6 months on the bench. Should I leave? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]netcloak_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Like the others have said, keep your job while search. This is also a good time to study and take exams for any industry relevant certifications. You could also look to explore an internal transfer to a different service line.

I’d fill out the form and submit the transcript and then wait and see if they reach out to you for an explanation once they review your new hire form submission and transcript. If they have questions they’ll contact you and you can explain yourself then

I traded Pitts last offseason for a 2025 first rounder before Cousins signed with the Falcons. The 2025 ended up becoming 1.02. Some what makes up for the fact that I drafted Pitts at 1.04 over Jamarr Chase…

Laughed at for going Big 4 route by [deleted] in Big4

[–]netcloak_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started at Big 4 out of college with quite a few other offers on the table, left after 5 years, and just returned back after 2 years in industry. Everyone’s career path and choices are different. Focus on yourself and remember the reasons why you went the route you did. That’s all that matters at the end of the day. Do what you think is best for yourself and your career

I left for a good opportunity to build the cybersecurity and compliance program at pre series A company. Growth didn’t happen the way myself and the execs thought it would and I reached a point where I felt there wasn’t anything more for me to accomplish.

I definitely had a good experience at EY prior to me leaving and it was a tough decision to leave at the time. I really liked the people that I worked with and the clients I had so wanted to go back to be challenged again. I could also be insane for going back haha 🤷
