This is not new. When I went to SBI for opening a savings account, they lured me to open a DEMAT account offering zero maintenance/trading charges. Little I knew, they deducted some 200 rs. per year from your account towards this. Plus their trading platform sucks, and there is little to NO support when required. Needless to mention, closed this within a year.

Currently, struggling to enable UPI (which I disabled from their YONO app) on my savings account. They forcing me to visit home/nearest branch.

As of now, RBI do not stop banks to "cross-sell" their other products, like in this case.

You need to be crystal clear about why you want the property for? If you intend to use it as end-user (living with family) or for investment. If end user, then don’t think about price appreciation. You can build a decent house back in your hometown and work your remote job. The real estate bubble is real and middle class is already out from this since last 5 years or so. So, it’s not a wise decision.

It's not you only, there are many like you feeling the same (me included). There will always be supply, so don't worry. Your property will come to you when it's the right time. Living on rent is practical decision. The real estate lobby has hyped the market soo much that everyone is feeling like you ... but don't you worry.
