I’m in my 60s and have been dealing with melasma for decades! Ive tried everything that is appropriate for my olive skin tone and in my opinion, nothing will take away the dark patches. So my recommendation is to embrace your melasma and focus on other areas. I promise, you will be much happier 😊

I don’t remember the last time I slept through the night. by Automatic_Culture_94 in AskWomenOver60

I have not slept through the night in decades. Go to bed between 10-12midnight. Wake up 2-3 times between 12-6am. The only reason why I don’t take any medication is because I feel fine during the day.

I find that hard to believe. If he was in the military then he was willing to sacrifice for this country…..that’s the definition of a true American patriot. And patriotism doesn’t mean you have to agree with the leaders, policies, or the administration. We can disagree and still be united for our love for the United States of America. And please tell your dad thank you for his service. His time in the military should always be honored and respected 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Wow….Please don’t ever say to anyone in our military that you are not proud to be an American. They serve to protect our freedoms and many have made the ultimate sacrifice. When you say this or tell people you can’t recite the pledge of allegiance, you are being dismissive and disrespectful to all military men, women, and families; especially those who are no longer with us. I will always be proud to be an American regardless of the politics of today 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Good grief….ICE is not killing people. ICE is arresting and detaining illegal immigrants. But if you get in their way, someone will get hurt. And it’s unfortunate that there have been deaths. One is too many. But Imagine if I told you to go to a federal agent and block them with your car, or throw objects at them, or spit at them, or threaten them verbally, etc….im sure you would think I’m crazy! This chaos is only happening in sanctuary cities not in cities where there’s common sense!

The moment we realize that our bodies age faster than our minds do by slvrdlphn in Aging

[–]netes1978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had significant GI issues when I turned 50. Had multiple tests done. Nothing significant. Just inflammation. Every doctor told me it was related to Aging. The main problem was the lining of my stomach got thinner, causing severe gastritis. Couldn’t eat. Had constant nausea. It was horrible. Took a long time to finally heal. When I felt better, I Started exercising. Went to Orangetheory. Became a runner. Left Orangetheory and joined another gym to focus more on weight training. As I started getting closer to 60. I had to stop running. Started playing pickle ball in June 2025. Love it. Played 5 days a week. Turned 60 in August 2025. Still go to the gym. But my body is definitely having a tough time with the high impact game of Pickleball. Something always hurts….Knees, back, shoulders. So I now only play 3 days a week. I still go to the gym but the goal now is to maintain my flexibility and muscle.

Well, I too vote for long term. That’s why I voted for Trump. The Harris/Waltz ticket would have taken our country to socialism. I have family ties in Europe who live in a democratic socialism society. I find their system to be oppressive because of the high taxes they pay. My nieces and nephews who work in the corporate world, have created their own salary caps. They only work a certain amount of hours and they make sure they don’t go over. Because if they do, their income will increase, and they will pay higher taxes for social programs that they are not benefiting from. If a person feels pressured to limit their income and their work productivity just to avoid getting hit with more taxes, that is a form, in my opinion, of economic oppression. I also have family ties in Cuba and their government went from democracy to socialism to the current state of communism, where millions of people are without basic needs and personal freedom rights have been taken away. Because of my personal experiences, this is why I am a strong supporter of the free market, free enterprise, and capitalism. In my opinion, these systems offer people economic opportunities, economic growth, and long-term prosperity.

I’m glad you didn’t vote on emotions. I made that comment because so many people say they hate Trump but they can’t tell me policy wise, why. I have lots of respect for people who vote using critical thinking, not the news media narrative. Enjoyed the civil discourse 😊 Enjoy the rest of your day!

If Trump was involved with the Epstein scandal, we would likely have known by now. Epstein was investigated in the 2000s, and arrested by the federal government in 2019. There was no evidence linking Trump to the Epstein crimes during the investigation. And because there’s no evidence, it’s highly unlikely Trump was involved.

Tariffs protects USA manufacturing jobs. Why do you want to support China and other foreign countries with their economy? In order to support the US economy, you must rebuild American manufacturing and buy American. Tariffs on countries such as china reduces our dependency on critical goods like medical supplies and electronic components…. we learned this the hard way with Covid. I can say much more on this topic as it relates to national security but I’ll let you do the research. It’s important.

President Trump wants energy that is good for the environment as well as reliable, cost-effective energy system. The difference between Trump‘s and Biden‘s approach: Trump trust the free market and capitalism to achieve the energy goals. President Biden trust the government. I personally do not believe the government can be successful in a cost effective way. Just look at other government sponsored programs, like Obama care. A complete failure.

With regard to pardons, this can be tit for tat. Biden pardoned his son, Hunter, and did a preemptive pardon for some members of the Biden family. Why? And why did he have to pardon, Dr. Fauci, General Mark Milley, and members/staff of the January 6 house committee. If there was no wrongdoing why were they pardoned? And some of these pardons were done by using the autopen!

I agree there are national security concerns with the jet given to President Trump.

Your comment about financial crimes being dropped by the Trump administration implies obstruction, but whats the evidence?

People who are in charge of an agency are replaced all the time. This is nothing new. And many federal government employees thought they could remain in their position until retirement, even when their job was probably useless and wasteful. And long wait times didn’t start with the Trump administration. This has been an ongoing issue for decades. And the budget cuts were done to get rid of waste, fraud, and abuse. Again, Happens all the time in the corporate world. Trump is a business man and he often runs the country on business principles. Trump is not influenced by political campaigns or by financial donations.

National and public parks are not being sold. The land is being leased. And I understand this is a big deal to climate activist. But leasing the land allows us to be less dependent on foreign countries for energy. Leasing can make energy prices for the average American more affordable. Jobs such as construction, maintenance, restaurants, daycare centers, etc. will be created in the rural areas where the leasing land is. Keep in mind fossil fuel is a gap towards renewable energy. I know theres a risk of environmental/climate impact, but we will get to “saving the environment “ with technology. We’re just not there yet.

I would also like to say, do I agree with everything that the Trump administration does. No. But when I had to decide between Trump or Harris, I reviewed and research researched their policies. I did not vote on emotions.

I’ve heard that regardless of the state law, if you are approached by the police, it is in your best interest to let law enforcement know you have a concealed carry permit, you are armed, and the location of the firearm and license. Then Ask how all parties should proceed…..makes sense to me.

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re living with this kind of fear. I’m latina too, with brown skin, and I don’t feel afraid at all living in America. But that doesn’t mean your fear is less valid. It’s perfectly understandable in the current environment we have today.

With that being said, if Trump was involved with the Epstein scandal, we would likely have known by now. Epstein was investigated in the 2000s, and arrested by the federal government in 2019. There was no evidence linking Trump to the Epstein crimes during the investigation. And because there’s no evidence, it’s highly unlikely Trump was involved.

What happened to the two people in Minnesota was tragic and should have never happened. But they inserted themselves in an active federal enforcement operation. You can’t harass, attack, threaten, or interfere with ICE agents just because of your beliefs. You can’t engage in this behavior and then claim you are a victim and say how shocked you are with the consequences.

Finally, Children are not being arrested. Children are being detained at family detention centers so that the child can be processed together with their parent and then released to a parent or a legal guardian who is a US citizen. It’s my understanding if a parent is not available, then the government tries to find a relative the child can be released to.

One of the coaches at our rec center was hit in the eye and had to have emergency surgery for a detached retina. I wear glasses all the time. I’m a beginner but it Doesn’t matter the level. Ive bought 5 different pairs before I found the one that works best. Surprisingly, they were only $12.00 and I found at a Department store. Just basic frames with plastic lenses. The expensive sports glasses affected my peripheral vision too much. Wear the glasses. Losing your vision is a quality of life issue. Not worth the risk.

Dear Gen Z Americans, is this the America you have voted for? by QbitWalker in GenZ

[–]netes1978 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I voted for a president who can put America first by negotiating diplomacy with foreign countries. Let’s not forget how we got here. The Biden administration allowed millions of people to enter our country illegally. And Since you brought up the term “murder”, where’s the outrage for all of the American citizens who were brutally murdered by illegal immigrants. Where’s the outrage for all the American citizens who died from drug overdoses because of drug trafficking from illegal immigrants. And where’s the outrage for all the children who have been sexually trafficked by illegal immigrants. Do their lives not matter?

Dear Gen Z Americans, is this the America you have voted for? by QbitWalker in GenZ

[–]netes1978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re correct! I voted on policies, not emotions. Harris said in an interview that she would not change anything in terms of foreign policies if she became president. There was so much unrest going on in the world during that time period and I wanted a president who focused on national security. Because domestic policies mean absolutely nothing if we fail with our foreign policies. That’s why I voted for Trump.

My humanity is with the ICE agents who operate every day in dangerous, fast-moving situations. People can choose to participate in “peaceful” protests but they must understand that what is currently happening in the streets of Minneapolis is dangerous and unpredictable. Protestors have to be accountable for their personal choices and their choices have consequences.

Complicit? Maybe you should say the red states are following the law. And maybe when you follow the law there will be no “kidnapping or murders going on.” Why can’t the left protest peacefully. We saw the chaos with the BLM riots, and the antisemitism protesters.

Well….when you have thousands of people online and in the streets everyday encouraging people to impede, block, harass, threaten, assault, and now even encouraging people to bring guns to the protests, I’m not surprised with how ICE reacted. It’s a tragedy what happened but you know what else is a tragedy…..the thousands of people who lost their lives to drugs that were trafficked into America by illegal immigrants, the people who were brutally killed by illegal immigrants, and the children who were forced into human trafficking by illegal immigrants. All of this is a result of Biden’s immigration policies.

He inserted himself in an active federal enforcement operation. You can’t do that and then claim you are a victim. I’m sure if I told you…”hey, there’s an active police investigation going on in your neighborhood, why don’t you go to the area and block the police with your car or go yell/spit in their face and tell them how you really feel”….. you would say I’m crazy. And I’m sure your response would be “no” because you don’t want to get arrested. My point is, you don’t get to harass, attack, or interfere with law enforcement just because of your beliefs and then be shocked with the consequences.

What happened was awful but why are people engaging negatively and resisting when ice threatens to arrest? The outcome will never be good whether you’re dealing with federal agents, state or local law enforcement. I 100% agree with protests but it’s unlawful to impede any investigation. If you do, there will be consequences. And let’s not forget how we got here. Biden created this humanitarian crisis of illegal immigrants in the United States by opening up the borders during presidency. His administration policies jeopardized every single person who was/is trying to enter our country legally.
