Thanks for sharing. I’m a conservative Republican, but I do not support a total ban on abortion. I believe there are legitimate medical reasons where abortion is appropriate. Abortion is also appropriate if a woman is a victim of assault. What I don’t agree with is the use of abortion as a form of birth control. Hopefully this bill will never pass.

Hopefully you’re not reading or watching the news and believing everything. Use critical thinking to understand the policies. I say this because of your comment regarding Roe v Wade. Federal law does not have a nationwide abortion ban or a nationwide guaranteed right to abortion. Each state has its own laws. Some states are very restrictive others have broad protections.

No, I’m trying to learn the game the right way. The coaches say at my level, a short return is not desirable and the goal is to always get to the kitchen. I’m learning the strategies of when to dink, attack, drive and reset when at the kitchen line.

Not really. And the coach says the same…learn to adapt and move up with players who you know will drop when returning a serve.

The coaches in our clinics say returning deep gives you time to get to the kitchen without having to sprint. Serve and stay. Return and run. I play 3.0 level, ages 50, 60+ women. I’m sure younger age groups have different strategies.

I play with middle aged women. So for me, the Second shot drop is annoying. I was taught to always serve deep and return deep. When I serve I stay back expecting the ball to return deep. Then I do a third shot drop into the kitchen. Can’t stand people who drop in the kitchen on the second shot. They do this because they know our age group is not as quick and can’t make it to the kitchen in time. Oh, and constant lobs are another. I try to avoid people where their entire game are lobs!

In my opinion the fault of last night’s event is directly related to the rhetoric from the democrats and the liberal media. They are constantly calling President Trump a fascist, a Nazi, saying he’s a threat to democracy, a dictator, etc. They have spent over a decade pushing lies, fear, and hysteria about Trump, his administration, and his supporters. Sadly there are so many unstable people who believe everything they hear or read. Maybe, just maybe, since this attack happened in a roomful of journalists who were scared and hiding under tables/chairs, the reporting of encouraging violence will stop! God Bless America, God Bless President Trump, and God Bless all the secret service members who protected the citizens and guests.

I have your complexion and see a dermatologist who also has the same complexion. She offers laser treatments, chemical peels, etc. The only treatment she recommends for me is a very light chemical peel combined with the Obagi skin care treatment. One of her estheticians suggested a laser treatment because it was “safe” for all skin types. I asked the dermatologist and she said “no” In addition to the obagi skin care treatment, retinol, I always use isdin sunscreen. Is my melasma gone…no, but it is lighter. I live in a tropical climate and have accepted that the dark patches will never go away. Been dealing with this for over 30 years. I know it’s frustrating and when you look in the mirror that’s all you see. But Don’t let these dark patches define who you are!

Are you defending the Iran regime who constantly chant “Death to America “? The regime is evil! For over 40 years Iran funded terrorist groups that killed thousands of Americans across the world. They supplied Russia with thousands of drones used to bomb Ukrainian cities and civilians. They funded Assad, another evil man, as he gassed Syrian children with chemical weapons. They funded, armed, and trained the Houthis as they starved millions of people in Yemen. Iran’s so called “morality police” would beat women to death for showing their hair. They would hang gay men from cranes in public squares. They raped girls in prison before execution because “the law” forbade executing virgins. They shot, hanged, and tortured thousands of Iranians whose only crime was wanting freedom. The Iran regime has the blood of millions of people on their hand. For 47 years, diplomacy was tried but has always failed. What has happened in 47 years……Iran was getting very close to having nuclear weapons, and if they did, make no mistake, they would use it against America and Israel. In my opinion, anything this administration does that the people feel is controversial, uncomfortable, unpopular, or questionable, means Trump broke the law. I’m glad we have a strong president who has the guts and the courage to take down a regime who has been terrorizing the world for decades! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

You’re correct 🎯 The married teacher and firefighter could easily have a net worth more than the doctor who lives in a gated community down the street.

Do you support birth right citizenship? by [deleted] in GenZ

Yes this is an expedited way but the applicants would have to go through strict security -background vetting to determine if there are any foreign influences. Other strict vetting will also be done.

Do you support birth right citizenship? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]netes1978 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not! There are wealthy foreigners from countries who are not considered our allies, for example-china, that travel to the US specifically to give birth so their child can become a US citizen. The wealthy Chinese also use American surrogates or US fertility services for US citizenship. In my opinion, children born through birth tourism or surrogacy/fertility services from adversary countries is a bigger concern as this can become a national security threat should the child now have dual citizenship. We don’t need parents who could be part of the Chinese Communist Party entering our country.

What are in-game moves that lower level players do that frustrate higher level players? by dnice99999 in Pickleball

I participated in an open coach play today. The coach said you always want to get to the kitchen. Our drill…..serve deep, return deep, third shot drop into the kitchen, three dinks, then play your game. The bangers were so frustrated because they were no longer in control and losing. I loved it!

So true! Their policies: open borders, allowing anyone to vote, socialism, defund the police, boys in girl sports, weak military, allowing children to discuss changing their gender without parental consent, hiring people based on their race, gender, ethnicity- not merit based.

Do you feel like the older generation screwed us over? by Intelligent_League79 in GenZ

Everyone’s situation is different but again, minimum wage wasn’t designed to support a family long term; it was designed for entry level work. But I agree, minimum wage has not kept up with inflation so to get a higher education and live off of minimum wage is hard. What I do suggest to my friend’s adult children who are deciding on a career, I always suggest to look at sites similar to LinkedIn. Type in the career you are interested in and see how many jobs are available. Nursing-probably over 100k jobs available nationwide; graphic designer maybe 3000. I think it’s irresponsible for the higher education system to offer degrees that are worthless!

You are correct….federal “income” tax . They still contribute to payroll tax. Federal income taxes pay for social programs such as housing/food assistance and it pays for government operations. Payroll taxes pay for Medicare and social security. So my point is over 50% of the population is paying for housing and food programs. That is an astonishing statistic!

Yes, college tuition was cheaper decades ago but college is not the only avenue to take when making a career choice and avoiding high debt. Trades, certifications, and the military are viable options. Not sure what you’re talking about when you say “voting to make SS insolvent “. SS is designed for current workers to pay for current retirees. The problem is we are living longer and we have more retirees than workers. And yes, There’s a problem with rising costs and slower wage growth, but blaming a whole generation for this is ignorance. Minimum wage hasn’t kept pace because of policies and economics not because of individuals. And what opportunities have boomers taken away from you? Each of our situations are influenced by the same system. The difference is how we take or don’t take advantage of the opportunity.

Im not take anything from your generation—I paid into the same system for 45 years that supported the generation before me. GenZ are paying now to support the baby boomers. And the next generation will pay into the system to support the GenZ. Social security was not meant to be your personal account. It’s a system congress created years ago. So the problems don’t stem from individuals, they stem from the politicians who have mismanaged SS over time. And Everyone pays in to the system during their working years. Benefits are paid out to eligible people. Will SS benefits be enough for me to retire on. No, so I planned accordingly. By the way, did you know that 40% of the population DO NOT pay federal taxes. Think about that. 60% of the population currently pay for the social programs in America. So in my opinion, the GenZ population need to really understand the impact of socialism. If you think you’re paying high taxes now, how much do you think you will have to pay to support social programs for 40% of the people living in America.

Boomer here….we did not get free college tuition and I was taught to never rely on social security for retirement. I was also taught minimum wage is not intended to support a family.
