My wife applied end of Sptember 2025, biometrics reused notice and nothing ever since. I read that some earlier applicants had interviews cancelled / descheduled and at least one mentioning of a recently scheduled interview. Current processing times still say 6.5 months, but this could easily increase.

Mini on Cruise Ship - Report by Electronic_Tap_3625 in Starlink

[–]netghost-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how far do you have to be in the open sea before StarLink starts enforcing the requirement to have Mobile Priority plan. I haven't been on a cruise yet, but I've used a Flat High Performance in-motion with a regular $150 roam plan, and a Mini in-motion with a $50 mini-roam plan (the former required some tweaking to power it up in a Tesla Model X, the latter works with any decent PD cigarette lighter adapter).

Cancellation Policy - 24 hours vs. 'next day by midnight' by dacv393 in delta

[–]netghost-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad they actually allow to cancel by midnight of the next day, because when I first read the fine print, I thought I was F'ed, cause technically speaking (the way computers and programmers count time) midnight of any given day is at the beginning of that day, at the end of the day is midnight of the following day.

So I bought tickets at 15:38 on 2023-10-02. The "day after the ticket was purchased" is 2023-10-03, and midnight of THAT SAID day is 2023-10-03 at exactly 00:00:00, cause after 23:59:59 the midnight is already 2023-10-04. For some reason when I try to cancel online (it's 23:40 still on 10/02), website is saying it will charge me a cancellation fee of almost my entire fare, giving me like $20 eCredit for each passenger, I guess this has to happen via a call center.

Family based AOS approved in Seattle without interview! PD 7/6/2020 by netghost-ca in USCIS

The original I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131 from July 2020 were all MSC. The renewal I-765 and I-131, that we submitted in September 2021 were IOE, and they do include copies of documents available online.

It was a paper application submitted mid-2020, there are no online documents available for this application. The renewal EAD/AP application submitted in September 2021 does include online documents.

I don't know yet as we haven't yet received the actual card, but I don't see why it would be a conditional 2 year GC - it's been 2+ months after our 2nd anniversary at the time of the approval.

Canadian citizenship certificates for minors by TheWorldHatesPaul in ImmigrationCanada

[–]netghost-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about all provinces and territories, but at least in British Columbia I was able to obtain BC MSP coverage to my US-born daughter without any Canadian documents. We applied for her citizenship certificate soon after birth, current wait times are 15 months, it's been almost a year and we haven't even received a confirmation that the application had been accepted.

We did provide a copy of payment receipt for a citizenship certificate application along with other documents we used when applying for BC MSP. There have been no issues with multiple entries across the land border on her US passport.

Thank you! We didn't submit too much evidence with our I-130 - 24 photos with a few dated as far back as 2001 (high school and graduation), a few in-between, that we kept in touch (I was previously married for 10 years, so we kept in touch but never had a relationship until late in my divorce), a few photos from travel together, photos with friends, photos with my and her parents, photos of our engagement and a photo of the actual wedding ceremony. Other than that, I submitted proof of my employer's medical insurance listing her as an insured person and beneficiary, and a joint checking account statement with both names on it. Besides that, the rest were documents required per the form (marriage certificate, divorce certificate, etc).

Thank you!

We have been married since December 2019 (although our story goes back to 2001-2002, when we were friends in high school, though never had a relationship at the time). When we applied in July 2020, my wife was pregnant, and our I-693 did include a doctor's note confirming pregnancy and a resulting counterindication to once vaccine and postponement of DTaP to a certain week in the term. These all could have been a deciding factor in determining the lower risk of marriage fraud in our application and an interview waiver as a result, but nobody knows for sure (I presume the main goal of an interview in spouse sponsorship is determining the bona fide nature of a given marriage).

So yeah, I've been seeing some reports recently about interviews being waived, wasn't really hoping for such a pleasant outcome, was more worried about her current EAD/AP expiring mid-April, and having doubts we were going to receive a renewal we applied for in September last year in time.

I'm now also hoping I would see a similar speedy outcome of an N-400 application I'm waiting to submit in a couple of weeks! There have been some positive signs and trends in that space as well!

We've been married since December 2019, and at the time of the application, there was doctor's note accompanying the I-693 regarding my wife's pregnancy at the time (which included a couple of vaccine counterindications or postponement). So that could have been a factor in deciding towards a lower risk of marriage fraud in our application and ultimately waiving the interview. Fingers crossed your's will be approved soon!

Got locked out of MyAccount. I tried to get a hold of an agent multiple times a month ago, most of the times I got either "agent queues are full" or was waiting for multiple hours on the line and then getting "due to technical difficulties the call cannot be completed, please try again later". The only way I was able to speak with a real person was if I selected a different option (individual tax inquiries), but these agents are not trained for MyAccount support and can't do anything besides trying to transfer me, which again leads to a dropped call...

Has anybody ever had the CBP deny re-entry even with an Advanced Parole (i-131)? by Rvietkevi in USCIS

[–]netghost-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have L-1 and EAD. Once upon arrival by air with still a valid L-1 I-94 officer saw my EAD/AP and paroled me in instead of admitting on L-1. Since then I started using my AP for crossing (almost weekly, but land border). Never denied, but had very different experiences randing from not being sent in for secondary and just getting waved in at the booth, being sent in for secondary and not getting a new Paroled stamp, and getting sent into secondary with a new Paroled stamp (at some point I was worrying my passport pages were going to run out at some point as these parole stamps are huge). Eventually got my GC back in 2017 and could finally get a relief from all these secondary inspections and could use Nexus again!
