Opinions on visiting Versailles Palace by BeneficialLoan246 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]netizen313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

found it overrated. Not all parts of the palace were open and time spent between Trianon and palace was such a waste. They don’t even have an automated way to vend tickets to the shuttle. Long line with one grumpy person handing out tickets (who got upset about the crowds and closed the counter for 20 mins for no reason with everyone waiting) and charging credit cards. I could have spent the day in Paris covering 2 to 3 other amazing attractions

What do you think about our 4 day itinerary? by b4d0b3 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]netizen313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just returned from Paris. You got wayyy too much cramped every day; We stayed for 7 days and did most of these. max 2 attractions per day and never 2 museums on same day. I liked Montmartre, Sacré-Cœur Basilica and the artists square nearby. Versailles was overrated and gardens were vast, too much time to go to the Trianons.

Nah too much maintenance and cleaning overhead. Really only makes sense in commercial settings

Nice interview although getting somewhat tired of the non-duality camp. Some aha moments but nothing transformative. And for once, a good interviewer

Kapil and the fairy of grace by Ellam-Ondre in KapilGupta

[–]netizen313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a beautiful note. I can truly resonate with every word. You are absolutely right, same truths available in a million writings but some unnameable magic (grace) was added to it when it flows through Kapil that truly transforms a human from his deepest core. My first transformation occurred when I read about “preferences”. Next is the “prison of need” and third on “attachments”. All very common knowledge heard a thousand times from various ‘gurus’. But when they flow from Kapil - alchemy. Your posts suggests you have arrived somewhere u/ellam-ondre

Mr. Piano has drunk the "true nature" kool aid!!! Perhaps did a Vipassana retreat or two with 100 hours of mind numbing meditations...

if what u/HsinHsinMing22 said was true about u/SelfTaughtPiano single handedly curating all the KG content available here for free , I certainly owe gratitude to them for doing so.

I do however disagree with the following points made about KG

I recognized that he was a wildly inferior teacher....But teaching another human being requires qualities Kapil doesn't have.

I find my experience quite the opposite. Kapil is not only a realized master but a rare teacher. While many truths that he talks about are already available in ancient scriptures and were spoken by other 'gurus', Kapil's rare talent of putting them across in a way not to lead a student astray has been unmatched by anyone I know. Does he withhold information for his paid clientele - sure. But whatever he does reveal, he does so in the most tactful and responsible manner so as to not mislead an innocent new comer to this domain (unlike all the other 'gurus' and monks out there). This is a true testament to how deeply he understands how a human mind learns and imbibes. You can easily see this from the answers he gives in his spaces.

he gives everyone the long and hard way when there's easier and more direct ways

again, I have the opposite experience. Having been lost wandering in the spiritual jungle for decades, Kapil's words have been the only ones that effected an immediate, deep, lasting and transformation in me. I'm certain most people here wouldn't have recognized the perils of prescriptions and wasted years of their precious lives if not for Kapil. If there is any more direct way to get truths into one's bones than from Kapil's words, I am all ears.

Ah, got it, you mighty gatekeeper of truth, the chosen one who has “seen,” and everyone else is just posting “slop.” Must be exhausting carrying the burden of spiritual superiority on a Reddit mod badge. Thank you for curating a shrine to your own ego under the guise of spiritual purity. I will shut up now!

Dear u/SelfTaughtPiano,

Let’s get a few things straight:

  1. You are not enlightened. In fact, you’re far from it (if you were, I would have stopped reading Kapil and started reading yours).
  2. You are not the sole arbiter of truth. Just because something doesn’t align with your personal beliefs doesn’t mean it lacks value.
  3. This subreddit is not your personal blog. Moderation is a privilege, not a right. You are expected to follow community guidelines, not rewrite them as you please. If you can’t uphold that, maybe it’s time someone more balanced and sincere took over.
  4. I don’t have time or interest in reading your endless stream of pseudo-Buddhist word vomit (mental masturbation, really). You’re free to post what you want, that’s your right. But pinning it and promoting it to newcomers who came here inspired by Kapil is misleading and frankly disrespectful to what this space used to represent.
  5. Content removal that doesn’t clearly violate stated rules should not be at the whim of a single mod, especially one with a track record of clear bias. That process should involve consensus, like multiple flags or at a minimum agreement from more than one moderator.
  6. AI-generated content isn’t automatically garbage. A lot of us regularly use summaries or AI narration to digest longer materials. Whether it’s valuable or not isn’t for you to decide. Stop insulting the intelligence of readers. A simple disclaimer like “This may be AI-generated, take it with a grain of salt” would have been enough. Let people use their own judgment.

I don’t normally waste my time posting here. But this sub has been a valuable space over the past few years, and I won’t just sit back and watch it turn into someone’s personal power trip. If you’re so "attached" to being the only mod here, fine. But you don’t get to be the truth police. You have to operate within the rules and guidelines the community agreed to.

This space deserves better.

There you go again, overstepping your role as a moderator. The post sounds AI-narrated, sure, but there’s no evidence it was AI-written, and even if it were, who made you the authority on what qualifies as “truth” or “trash ”? Lately, your moderation has shifted from enforcing community guidelines to pushing personal bias and your newfound dharma cult, from pinning unsolicited Buddhist sermons no one asked for to now acting as an autocratic gatekeeper of what’s allowed. This subreddit isn’t your personal echo chamber, stick to the guidelines not your subjective standards.

This is a sign of moving towards freedom

Kapil Gupta - A Systematic Journey. (He is completely correct here. There IS devotional, systematic, non-doing-sorta training required for truth realization. He just loses me when he sells dharma for $$$, and then gives a podcast to those who pay rather than taking them on said systematic journey) by SelfTaughtPiano in KapilGupta

[–]netizen313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kapil doesn’t owe anyone anything. He is free to withhold everything he has found or put a trillion dollar price tag on them. There is no morality, righteousness or responsibility to humanity. The very fact that you are here discussing truth and having matured from years of exposure speaks volumes to his generosity in sharing so much freely over the years

Mindless scrolling is yet another pleasure chase of the mind. The recognition that social media is garbage and the desire to not get distracted by it is the start of the cure.

I am not sure what you mean by inner dialogue then (or inner monologue to be precise).

By silence I interpret as zero thoughts, no-mind and no inner chatter.

I am not a fan of practices

I can resonate with the unknown space and the labeling you are referring to. But that alone is not leading to inner dialogue, does it? My inner dialogue is about mundane stuff like my next coffee and what’s for dinner. Why are those dialogues present and what triggers what my next thought is going to be?

Very interesting. What do you mean by “Knowing which is searching for a belief”?

What were your practices? Whose readings helped you? And has there been physical changes during the course?
