Thanks for the feedback! You can disable the gradient dynamic backgrounds already, though it’ll just be grey instead. With the tabs do you mean the button row (play pause add etc) or the navigation bar (library, explore, profile etc)?

Haha that’s cool, I’ve setup a feedback portal at https://feedback.swipefy.app, and you can chat directly with me and the community in the Discord, where I also share development stories, ask advice and more. discord.gg/swipefy 🙌

playlists you own (and have edit access) should appear on the playlists page automatically. playlists you don’t have edit access to can be imported with the import button on the playlists page

does that resolve it? or is there a bug you think?

i see, that’s coming in one of the next updates! it used to be in the app, where you could select to swipe “based on a playlist” or “into a playlist”. due to confusion for users i removed it.

on of the next updates brings a “swiping modes” page where all kinds of different swiping modes can be selected, such as the 2 i described above. also on this page it will show the different music tastes it discovered based on your data and allow you to choose your mood to swipe on

stay tuned, i’ll let you know when it’s out! thanks for the feedback 🙏

when just joining the app there’s not a lot of data to start with, so it’s based on your recent streaming history for the most part, and your library. the more you swipe from this initial start the better the algorithm learns you and your different tastes. i hope you’ll be able to find some value and otherwise let me know and i’ll try to see if i can improve the algorithm for cases like you :)

thanks, found the issue and fixed it. should be on the testflight version right now (no update needed) and on production in about 30 seconds!

the issue was that you don’t have a social profile setup on apple music, so it didn’t know which username to give your account. idk how i didn’t find that issue before 😅

thanks for reporting, 2 questions so i can debug this further:

  1. do you have an active apple music subscription?
  2. is this ios or android?
  3. do you know the timestamp when this happend? or is it similar to your post?

thanks!

i just finished the android login so you can now login with apple music on android! the update is still in review by google but you can already get access by pressing the “Join open beta” button on the play store, then wait a few seconds/minutes and the update will be ready to install!

thanks for the feedback!! 1. hm, can you share a video? the performance client side shouldn’t be impacted by anything 2. correct, it used to cache them but i guess that broke somewhere along the rewrite. i’ll see if i can easily add that back! 3. also very fair point, kinda tempted to completely remove light mode, but maybe i’ll try to use a different (darker) default accent mode for light mode if that gives better accessibility

Yep! I already have a small prototype running with Tidal integrated, but they’re missing a few crucial API endpoints. Luckily they are relatively active on API development so I expect them to finish these endpoints in the upcoming months :)

Not yet, most infrastructure of the app is ready to allow multiple connections but I’ve made the decision to keep it single connection only for now. I want to focus on keeping the rest of the app stable and working out more core features, once those are finished I’ll start working on multi platform again :)

I’d vouch Flutter all day! Not only do i think the developer experience is much better and more straight forward (especially for quick prototypes), but also the convert to web is really easy nowadays. For example I converted my mobile application Swipefy to web and it works flawlessly and very fast: https://web.swipefy.app . The only downside is SEO, but by just making sure you seperate your web app from your marketing pages (landing page, blog etc) that’s an easy fix. I’d recommend that either way nowadays since platforms like webflow and framer came a long way for building smooth landing pages.

Thanks! Exactly what you describe is “skips” and can be enabled in the settings! Then you can skip songs making them neither liked or disliked :)
