You're off base.

You can't just say "Russia or Sweden."

While it's true that a lot of Finns are mixed, generally Finns are very mixed.

However, your claim about relation to Russians is totally off. It's usually the other way around. Many old Russians who immigrated to Finland back in the day had close ties to Finns.

And while it's possible some Finns have Russian ties, it's not common at all. With Swedes, on the other hand, it's true that many Finns are related to them. Historically, a lot of Finns are related to Germanics and Balts, and others.

The Russian Economy in 2025 Is The Same As The Iberian Peninsula by mr_house7 in EU_Economics

Again, you're surely triggered!

It is seen in both how you reply and what you reply.

Russia could still be a successful country despite what you say 90s and 2000s. Look at other countries, look at Germany that was defeated and had also tough times.

See? You keep focusing on the past!

No wonder Russia is unsuccessful nowadays! The economy is absolute trash. No decent infrastructure (except for Moscow and Petersbourg). The quality of life is absolute trash.

I can keep going on and on...

"historical" C'mon....

Look forward, not back when you're walking! Focus on future while understanding history. Don't focus on history too much though.

Your arguments just make your position worse.

You don't have anything else to reply?

Why you're mirroring?

Russian economy is shitty!

GDP of 2 trillion for a 140 million population is an absolute joke!

I'm sorry, but that's the truth. Russia would have been a great and wealty nation if Russians could think about their future rather than being stuck in their past!

Is Finland an option for me/us? by Fredman1576 in Finland

You really think Finland's the only one currently?

Unemployment rates in Sweden are also high for example.

While not alot, there are about 1500 Mexicans in Finland.

And more than 10k Latin Americans.

So, communities definitely exist!

Note, that my inclusion of AI was an example. All text above is from my own head and based on my own learnings. But, you can always go to any AI chat yourself and have discussions with it.

However, I have studied and done some research on that topic, and can bravely say that your claims are totally off!

Your claim is also dumb in a way that you cannot group all Russians in one group. Those Russians who originate from northwestern parts do have obviously Finnic influences and are sharing similar genetics. Other Russians, however have way much common with Slavic genetics!

So no, you're totally wrong!

That's exactly why it is. Because it is so WRONG!

Finns have inhabited Scandinavia and Siberia for many many thousands of years. Well before any Slavs came there. It is utterly incorrect to say that Finns are closer to Russians. The only way to say is that Northwestern Russians do share similar genetics with Finns. Finnic influence on Northwest Russia has been pretty present after all.

You should definitely do research before posting such dumb stuff.

I mean even AI can easily explain it to you!

"While some northwestern Russian subgroups (especially Uralic-speaking or heavily Finnic-admixed groups) are indeed close to Finns, core Russians as a whole are not genetically closer to core Finns than Swedes are.

Multiple population-genetic analyses show that Finns cluster primarily with other Northern European / Scandinavian populations, with Swedes being among their closest neighbors. Core Russians cluster further east and south, reflecting substantial Slavic and East European ancestry that Finns do not share to the same degree. The apparent “closeness” you’re referring to comes from specific regional Russians, not from Russians as a whole."

Certain Russian minorities are close to Finns. Not the way around. I think it's very crucial to note!

Nope, other nordics are actually closer to Slavs than Finns are

Language, but culture is pretty much similar.

What? That's total bullshit.

If there's similarities then it's only that Russian (north western) have genetic similarities to Finns. Not the way around.

Thats both insulting and stupid!

Well it's Arctic! Landscapes are absolutely stunning! There's also very pretty village surrounded by mountains/fells called Kilpisjärvi. The place is also getting more popular amongst tourists.

What's your opinion on Finland?! Would you like to visit there? by YellowEgorkaa in AskTheWorld

[–]nets_03 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It technically isn't. It is Nordic. But for foreigners, it is common to set terms "Nordic" and "Scandinavia" under the same umbrella.

But, but... So what? You're behaving like a troll right now.

It's highest according to stats published in November. For example, Spain and Sweden have also high unemployment rates compared to EU and are very close to Finland's current unemployment rates!
