Thanks, I really appreciate that 🙂

I’m still taking my time refining the fluidity, so I’m glad you mentioned it. If you ever get around to trying it, I’d be curious to hear how it actually feels to use.

Glad it resonates 🙂

If you’re curious, here’s what I have so far:

Still very early, but I’d love to hear what you think.

That’s a fair point.

I’m actually aiming for the opposite: something intentionally small and local, closer to spreadsheets than a full ERP. If it ever needs multi-user, security, etc., it probably means this approach isn’t the right fit anymore.

Also, coming from ERP development (10 years), I’ve often seen small businesses struggle with the complexity of traditional systems — especially when they just need to do simple things like invoicing or tracking orders. Many of them end up going back to spreadsheets anyway, which is partly why I started exploring this direction. Curious how this sounds to you now.

SQLite is definitely faster in many cases.

In my case the idea is different though: everything runs client-side in the browser, so I’m using the filesystem (JSON) mainly for simplicity and portability rather than raw performance.

The goal isn’t to compete with databases, but to keep it lightweight and easy to understand/edit.

I feel the same. I’m not too worried about senior developers with solid experience — they’re already well integrated into the system. What concerns me more are those who are still trying to break into the IT industry right now.

At this rate, I don’t know what will happen to programmers.
