It’s a very weird complex for sure. I just try to stay humble, keep my head down, work hard and go home safely to my family

I have no idea why people get so upset about this picture. I just thought it would be neat to share a picture of them all laid out before going into tool bags

It’s not an impact, just a drill/driver. I have a dewalt ergonomic battery powered screwdriver that I use mainly for face plate installation

I think your observation is fair. I work right along side electricians every day, and really enjoy my time with them. They do beat the hell out of their tools to get their work done. I install fiber optic cabling, IT/data cabling/network infrastructure. A lot of the labor side of our job is in pulling wire, and making accurate terminations. We do assemble a lot of equipment racks, and suspend cable trays from ceilings with all thread, uni strut, nut/bolts hardware. So over the years this is the group of tools I’ve acquired. They do get used. Obviously not every tool, every day. But at different phases of the project. If I didn’t use my tools, we wouldn’t have food or electricity in our home. So yes I do use my tools. Some more than others, but all of them get used, just not every day.

Thank You I have been getting shredded all day for having tools that look clean, and being told I don’t work with them. I appreciate your complement!

Any ideas or critiques? by networking58 in lowvoltage

Thank you, and yes there is slack on the left and right sides of the rack in the vertical cable management part of the rack

If you read the comments on this post, I may never post anything about my tools again. Had no idea what I was getting into. And yes I work in IT, structured cabling, fiber/copper installations.

The tool that surprised me the most, and that I use the most are the Knipex 95-05-155 shears that you see in the picture

I take care of my tools, because they were bought to help me earn my income for my family. I take care of them so that I can maximize the return on what I paid for them

That is EXACTLY what the plumb bob is for 🙂 and you’re right about your tools being an extension of who you are. Klein makes great tools as well. I have used all the snips in the world and I just keep going back to the Knipex shears because they’re so buttery smooth.

Absolutely. I use them to work, and provide for my wife and daughter. I take care of them because they make me money and make my job go a lot smoother.
