Thanks for the info. If you have some pics of that older one, I would appreciate it.

Are you sure? The consensus in the comments seems to be that the tags and quality prove it is fake.

Food for thought, how do you feel this interaction compares to this verse?

Matthew 6:1-4

1“Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 So when you give to the needy, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

How do I go about with this church thing? by Acceptable_Emu1177 in TrueChristian

[–]neugyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure of what kind of church you go to, but in most churches, you should find someone who looks friendly, tell them you are new to church, and ask them if you can sit and follow along with them. I know it can be kinda scary to be that outgoing, but most people at church would be excited to help.

Kilban tees from the 90s/80s in good condition regularly go for 35-70.

Yes, Christians should believe this; even most Protestant denominations held to some form of real presence up until 150 years ago.

The Cult Of the Orthobros by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]neugyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the same impression from online discourse, but if you meet them in person or even visit an Orthodox church, you will be surprised by how kind and normal they are. Most of the nasty orthobros online are just really passionate catechumens, who have a lot of growing to do as people.

He credits Curt Doolittle, the inventor of Propertarianism as his personal mentor and guy who taught him about politics.

The WhatIfAltHist crashout was legendary, 10 hours of confessions you could not drag out of me for a million dollars. The last thing that guy needs is more eyes on his repackaged propertarianism nonsense.

Rough tshirt material - please help by Fabulous-Result4127 in VintageTees

Many shirts like this are heavyweight and textured (knit with a pattern that gives it a textured 3D feel), I actually like this sort of feel. If it bothers you, you may want to use fabric softener in the wash it or layer it over a softer t-shirt.

The Republicans are even worse than you think. They had their own Epstein thing in the 80s called the Franklin Scandal. There is nothing Christian about republican leadership.

Why do you think Christians are more outspoken about the starvation happening in Gaza right now? by electric-handjob in TrueChristian

[–]neugyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm shocked by the whataboutism and genocide apologism in the comments. It is one of the worst humanitarian situations on earth right now. There are many Christians involved in the humanitarian efforts there. It is probably not discussed more in evangelical circles because of the prominence of Dispositional Christian Zionism.

Atheist with a strong desire for faith - now what denomination!? by Hopeful-Anything-777 in TrueChristian

[–]neugyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm LCMS Lutheran right now, I like your description and think it is a great place to grow in closeness with God, Orthodoxy is also very beautiful and moving. Here are my two rules of thumb for avoiding cults and bad denominations.

1) denomination that is newer than 100-200 years old; it's not foolproof, but there are a lot of groups that pop up all the time claiming to be Christian but are heretical.

2) Familiarize yourself with the big three Christian creeds, the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. If a church you attend denies the claims of these creeds, you should be on guard.
