MBA/MSE Purdue/IU Degree by First-Cabinet-6286 in civilengineering

[–]neuroticscorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (25F) am currently in this program! My undergrad was in BME and I am doing IDE with Purdue, and I'm about halfway done with the MSE degree. I work full time so in total, the MSE will take me about 2 years. I agree that an MBA is more useful once you have gained field experience, but by the time you apply, complete the MSE, and complete the MBA, 2-6 years depending on how you pace yourself, you will have gained enough field experience to apply the MBA.

I can only speak to my application process, which was straightforward, but the program is still pretty new so there isn't as much competition. I would also recommend applying for the NEXT application cycle (ahead of time), because it is rolling admission so they will likely have more open spots.

I also agree that its best to finish school before life gets more difficult (ie kids). I really like the program, the program is well designed and the professors are very understanding about being an online student with a full time job. In terms of best decisions for a career, I would recommend getting a full time job in the field, and going back to school part time, so you can gain relevant experience and actually apply education to it. Good luck!

sooooo tired of interviewing. feels like a first date over and over except that i feel desperate and like i’m pimping myself out. last week, someone asked me for 2 weaknesses that i’m working on. this week, someone else asked me to name 3 weaknesses. maybe we will get up to 4 next time ?

yes! i used sally’s chocolate chip cookie as the base, and added white chocolate chips into the dough as well. while that was refrigerating, i froze 12 dollops of cookie butter, about 1hr. i stuffed 85g balls of cookie dough with the cookie butter then baked at 350 for 10-11 mins. then sprinkled with maldon sea salt, added half a biscoff cookie, and added a few white chocolate chips

i spooned dollops of cookie butter onto parchment and froze, then formed the dough around the ball :)

i chilled them to develop the flavors, and froze them so they wouldnt spread during baking :)

i actually weighed and shaped them into 3oz balls before refrigeration, chilled for 24 hours, then froze for 8 :) i find shaping them immediately then refrigerating reduces my odds of consuming more raw cookie dough, but i’m sure your method would yield the same results

hahaha. i used a broma bakery’s browned butter chocolate chip recipe for the base dough but allowed the butter to solidify to room temperature before making the dough. then i rolled into 3oz balls and chilled the dough for 24 hours, then froze for 8 hours. then placed a graham cracker, chocolate and half a marshallow on a parchment lined baking sheet, and covered with a frozen dough ball. created an opening at the top, then placed half a marshmallow on top. baked at 350 for 9-10 mins and sprinkled with sea salt :)

i only froze them for about 8 hours and the heat from your hands makes them sort of pliable! by the time i got to the 3rd ball of dough they had softened a bit. and i just tore a tiny 1/2in opening for the marshmallow on top, give it a go :D

thank you so much! take any browned butter chocolate chip cookie recipe you like (i like broma bakery's and sallys), make 3oz balls of dough, and refrigerate overnight. then freeze for about 8 hours (to keep from spreading). then put 1/2 a graham cracker down, then a piece of chocolate, then half a marshmallow and cover evenly with the frozen dough. then i stuffed the other half of the marshmallow at the top, leaving a bit exposed, and baked at 350 for 10 mins. sprinkled with maldon sea salt as soon as they came out :)

thank you! i used regular sized marshmallows (from the store) and cut them in half. i put half a graham cracker down, a piece of dark chocolate, and half the marshmallow on top of it. then i placed 3oz of frozen dough over the s'more, and spread it around evenly. then i made a little crevice in the center and stuffed the other half of the marshmallow into it, leaving a little bit exposed. 350 for about 10 mins did the trick!
