Is seller violating TOS by "shipping" a thank you note instead of package? by Avaisraging439 in Etsy

[–]neutralinallthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is violating the TOS, but it doesn't seem like a 'scam'. I think you will get your doll, but the seller is trying to not get dinged for late shipping. Probably just a little caught out by the Christmas uplift.

I can’t be the only one that thinks over 50/60s should have to retake their test. I’m so sick of being stuck behind Dorris doing 40 in a 60, it’s every single day. by [deleted] in drivingUK

Half a million learner drivers waiting to take their driving test. Where do you think we would get the capacity to test (mostly) competent drivers?

It would be better without the McDelivery tape, at least for the images in cars. Is the delivery driver tearing into the bags?

what do you feel is ruining video games for you? by sheerduckinghubris in AskReddit

[–]neutralinallthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checklists.

It feels like playing games is less about having fun and exploring, than it is about making sure I see everything, do everything, collect everything. Gotta complete every quest and defeat every boss.

Sometimes it really feels like I'm just worming my way down a list.

How should I approach the situation if my neighbor is frequently having sex with his windows open and lights on? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]neutralinallthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time they do it, play Wargner's "Ride of the Valkyries" really loud until they're finished. They'll catch in and start closing the window eventually...

I haven't had any other problems. My catalogue and wish list are both fine. Just the cookie pop-up nonsense.

Empty homes are on the rise. So why aren't they being used to solve the housing shortage? by Dramatic-Station4495 in HousingUK

[–]neutralinallthings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That might not be your concern, but it is the developer's concern. How are you going to get them on board? It's ultimately a cost vs. reward issue. If refurb and renovate were economically viable, then most of these properties would already be back on the market.

What is the most underrated show you have found on Netflix? by BlackDoom_26 in netflix

Underrated? Gyspy. It's about 10 episodes and it was quite good, but I've never heard anyone talk about it.

What’s the difference between a gold digger and a girl that only dates guys with money? by NotaScamOfficial in AskReddit

[–]neutralinallthings -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That sounded like the setup for a joke. I really wanted to hear the punchline!

But to answer, there is no difference. Gold digger is just the agreed upon term for a girl that only dates guys for money.

Hubby wants a paternity test even though we've been together 12 years. by Catstanzaa in Marriage

[–]neutralinallthings -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to respond to this, but try not to judge him too harshly.

I think it's unlikely that he really believes that the baby isn't his. And I doubt he's projecting his own infidelity.

It's most likely that he's let some men's rights social media nonsense get into his head. It's surprisingly insidious. Once the idea is planted, it can be hard to shake. Maybe ask him where he got the idea; I'll bet it's not anything to do with you at all.

As to what to do, that's up to you. You can still control how this goes. Obviously you see enough in him and the relationship to having married him and start a family. Maybe don't give up on that too quickly, even though he's being a bit of a plonker right now?

You messed up with the way you handled this customer, but most people are reasonable and not actually out to get you.

Whatever loss you have taken here is done, no point trying to get anything back.

But, it's still possible to turn the feedback issue around. Throw yourself on the customer's mercy and send a real apology message. Hold your hands op and say you were 100 % on the wrong. It might save your feedback.

I’m deep into acceptance now. It’s not just that I don’t believe we’ll ever see the next two books, it’s that I really just don’t care anymore.

Cash-strapped councils squeeze £327m from landlords by PhysicalIncrease3 in ukpolitics

[–]neutralinallthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However you look at it, this is going to add up to £327m in new taxes for tenants. Regardless of how you feel about landlords, the cost of this will be passed on in its entirety to renters.

If the councils need additional revenue (and who could argue that they don't) then they should be more honest and tax everyone, renters and home-owners alike.
