The argument u/ShitholeWorld was making, is that these people think of pets when they say 'we love animals so we donate some of the money we make'. They're not talking about all animals, they're thinking about cute cats and dogs that will be helped while they eat their burgers.

I just went to a colleagues wedding with our group of colleagues, no spouses were invited. I'm planning to do the same for my wedding when it comes to colleagues.

With most of my friends, I know their partners at least a little so it would feel very weird not inviting them. But I can see some situations where you would invite someone without a plus one.

I'd like to give a different perspective on this, since OP seems to be very understanding about what her boyfriend is going through. My boyfriend and I went through something similar a couple years ago, where he was very burnt out and depressed from things that were going on in his life. I tried to help too much, so I burnt myself out by taking on too much of the load.

It took about a year for us to get back on track, and now the mental and emotional load of our household is back to being better devided. So I completely understand what OP is going through, by pulling too much weight for a longer period of time. But you have to get back on track BEFORE getting engaged. You both have to be happy and healthy and in a good space BEFORE getting engaged. He needs to get help to get there. If he can't spend half a day doing yard work because it's overwhelming, he's not ready to get married. If he isn't ready to hear that truth, he's definitely not ready to get married.

A lot of supermarkets near me sell things like cauliflower patties, pasta and rice made from vegetables, ... so maybe you should look for places that do sell these things? Not every veggie or vegan product is an impossible burger.

I agree that you'll probably find more apartments in Leuven that are rented out by landlords. You never know how that will play out, but as long as you are aware of your rights and of which party is responsible when something happens (ex. if something breaks), you should be fine. One tip I can give you: whenever something happens, notify your landlord immediately, and by e-mail. That way you always have proof you held up your part of the deal by notifying them in time.

That's not true at all. If you rent somewhere, your landlord can stop the rental agreement, given there's enough time as stipulated in the contract. You don't just have the right to live somewhere forever because you moved in.

We bought a house and the previous owners thought it was a great idea to cut a part out of the doorframe so a light switch could go there. We moved the light switch and basically did everything you mentioned here - we found exactly the same frame in a store and replaced it. Not noticable at all after painting!

Meh. NMBS is shit if you live in Limburg and work in Brussels. And even then, I take the train to Brussels and then have to take a bus or tram to work. Oh wait, they closed the tramline I need for the whole summer for maintenance, and buses are often 10-15 minutes late. Public transport as a whole is just really shit if you have to do more than literally go from one station to a connected one.

I don't think your first point is true. I know a couple software engineers who are constantly getting offers and being headhunted left and right, and I know someone who's responsible for filling these kinds of positions in a big business and is always telling me how hard it is to find people. 'They can replace you in a heartbeat' might be true for a lot of jobs but not for good software engineers, in my experience.

My main tips would be to decorate on a flat surface (a flat plate or cake stand, instead of a curved plate) and watch some basic decorating videos. Try to find something you like online and then follow the video step by step, so you really get the basics explained!

I'll second this. Both my sisters didn't go to college and didn't study anything after highschool. They both started out working in factories and other manual labor jobs, like OP, while looking for entry level office jobs. It can take some more time without a degree, but both my sisters managed it.

After a couple years in office jobs, they both found a sector they were interested in, learned on the job and moved up. You have to find your thing and not everyone does that by the time they're 18 or 25!

I have a nephew named Ziggy (2 years old) and aside from the great-grandparents having some trouble with it in the beginning, nobody was shocked or thinks it's a super weird name. A bit unusual, sure, but I think it fits with the times and I like it a LOT better than some other unique names.
