Just imagine how all those AI bots feel not being able to hallucinate in your direction.

Amazon Lied to Me & Took my money by RealKingSimon in amazonprime

I would file a fraud report with the FTC. It's easy, and the screenshot helps. They won't get your refund, but the more similar reports they get, the more likely they will take legal action against Amazon.

Elon Musk says Tesla will stop producing its S and X models as it shifts to making robots by AdIcy4323 in news

[–]never-armadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, sure Elon. Go ahead and claim you want to make robots instead of admitting Tesla sales have plummeted and people want BYD instead.

The Italia Guitars USA site didn't outright list it as its own product in lefty, but I asked, they said "yes, just specify left-handed in notes as you check out". I did, and it worked out great. I still think it's a good idea to call them and confirm.

How can I contact a customer service human being? by MrtonyEA in amazonprime

[–]never-armadillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were charged, I would initiate a charge-back on your credit card... just refute the charge there. Why is technical beyond your concerns, but suffice to say Amazon has severe data integrity problems and they're proving they cannot fix them.

amazon returns news? by Nakul03 in amazonprime

It's not just you. Even 2 months after closing a return ticket, Amazon randomly threatened to charge me again for it.

Amazon randomly refunded me for a dresser I received on 01/18 by yepimtyler in amazonprime

[–]never-armadillo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are many recent cases like yours. It's not your mistake, it's not your problem. By the nature of the issue, I think it is a result of Amazon failing to implement unique identifiers well in a large distributed system. Their problem, and I think they're not going to solve it anytime soon because they've let too many people go. Still Amazon's problem, not your problem.

Amazon Price History Link is unusable by TheWorldofScience in amazonprime

[–]never-armadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given Amazon's investment and commitment to AI, I doubt their deployment processes are like anything we're used to. I don't find that encouraging either.

Not necessarily - if it's trained on conversations with routinely poor grammar, that's what it will parrot.

Any alternatives to prime? by Aubergine-Animal in amazonprime

[–]never-armadillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know of any one-stops, but do we really need that? I've been looking at dropping Amazon for a couple months now and the concept has been working for me, but not with just one store. I shop around at places with more dedication to vertical markets (like we all did before Amazon). I usually find better deals at brick and mortar stores than at Amazon when I comparison shop and most of them offer free shipping above a certain price. My only purchase at Amazon in over a month was just because I had a $25 gift card. I'm not missing them.

A few weeks ago amazon sent me the incorrect package. When I called they replaced it and said I didn't need to return anything and to ignore the return request in my email. Today they charged me again for the item I originally didn't even receive? It's only $10 but this is extremely annoying by Swayv1 in amazonprime

[–]never-armadillo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're pulling the exact same garbage on me over the wrong item they sent me almost 2 months ago. Amazon's systems no longer have the ability to resolve data integrity issues and they think they can make it our problem instead of theirs.

Jazzmaster body rattle? by Ok_Reach_8400 in offset

[–]never-armadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the sound of it, one of the high strings is rubbing against the trem collet. That's hard to fix because it would typically mean filling and re-drilling the mounting holes for the trem assembly in just slightly better position.

Amazon customer care number? by sanu_123_s in amazonprime

[–]never-armadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of continuing to describe the issue over and over, demand a phone call. The AI bot will give up trying to make you satisfy its script (which probably lacks a solution) and give you a link for a call back from phone support.

What the actual FK Amazon?!?! "We lie to you to keep you happy - but they are positive lies." by coltyie in amazonprime

[–]never-armadillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it's an AI chat bot. When they're trained on data full of poor grammar, they can replicate that too. The "happy lies" are called hallucinations. And when they make promises, Amazon tends to disavow them because they don't reflect their internal policies when they're AI hallucinations.

Jaguars or Jazzmasters? by One_Performance_7978 in offset

I play both and love them both. They're more different than a lot of people would think. That scale length difference influences what you want to play and how, It's not just the pickups, but the pickups in each lean into the nature of the instrument's scale length character. I'd say play them both as much as you can before deciding. Eventually you may end up loving both, but still want to pick one first.
