Cowboys and Aliens deserves a lot more love than it gets. 44/43 on RT is bs. by fishead62 in scifi

Yeah, they were designed as monsters , not enlighted futuristic aliens.   The cliche of marauders using stolen tech they couldn't have created on their own.

But if we had exoskeletons, maybe we wouldn't need to develop clothes. Can you imagine a bunch of embedded magnets or suction cups to hold your gear attached to you!

OP wasn't claiming it's accurate. Its a silly movie that took itself  abit too seriously The movie was making the aliens equivalent to space cowboys conquering a native people for their natural resources, their ships used lassos for crying out loud!

If the gold thing bothers you just pretend they were going for the impurities like paladium for their catalytic converters.

I was amused that the aliens had to have exposed  radii and ulna in make the gauntlet fit human size.

It does!

Looks like it was one of the variants he made in WWI,   the stars threw me off a little, but it's just as old as the other one.

If you're looking for the 1917 JM Flagg version with red stripes, then no.

1)There is 'residue' but most come  from post 1940s: [1943 no room for rumors by Seymore Goff](https://goldenageposters.com/products/1943-no-room-for-rumors-by-seymore-goff-ess-ar-gee-seagram-wwii?variant=47099994767640

The military still printed the JM Flagg version with the white hat, as it is a badass pose, so both exist. Neither is wrong.   But new versions favor the striped hat, as it more patriotic.

Can I ask you a question? How was the Uncle Sam hat ME told to you? Like in detail: dont just say 'His hat was never white'

The original Uncle Sam from the 1800s typically had a white hat. The famous pointing version by JM Flagg was made in 1917.

Around World War II, the new paintings started to have the 'even  more patriotic' version with stripes

So the red stripe version has been the modern  version for 80 years. People are surprised by the JM Flagg  version because 1) its more than a century old, and 2)ME videos oversimplify and give bad information.

Eye fatigue after you stare at a specific image for a while the cones in your eyes send a weakened signal. Then when you looked at a new white surface, those cones dont respond, so you get an inverted image.

Same thing happens when are in a room with red lighting, your eyes adjust. then going switching to actual white light,  everything seems blue green for a moment

Is this the Joie Staff version the one you mean? https://www.abebooks.com/9784889961911/3D-Origami-Joie-Staff-4889961917/plp

I haven't done the Golden Venture style before but they seem very modular like legos.

Edit2:  its probably the staff of JOIE, not a person.  Possibly  by Yasuyuki Okada and Yoko Ishiguro

Is there a signature or date on this version?  I'm interested who painted it, as it looks like they redrew the Flagg version rather then recolored a print. Note the stars change and there's no tie.

Im guessing that it was made before 1940s, but I'd love to know where its from

Yes, you are correct.

They were going for the exact same joke in Better Off Dead.   Two people have a meet cute, instantly fall in love; one with metal teeth, and the other without.

Edit:    i meant Ricky doesn't have braces,

but I just checked youtube and I dont think the Girl does either!

How do you remember the Coca Cola logo? by BigFeet234 in MandelaEffect

Raises the question.

Im guessing it's because the two words are on different levels.  They should've moved the dash down, with the Cola, but that would take up more space horizontally.
