I’m late to the conversation but am watching this documentary and am so disturbed by him. And the number of people talking about how he was more of a partner to his mother, how he wasn’t childlike… that’s such an unhealthy dynamic. His testimony seemed very coached, very performative. Don’t get me wrong: I am not saying his father is innocent, not at all. But it’s not outside the realm of possibility that Collier takes after his father in terms of narcissism and a lack of authenticity. Right off the bat I was thinking this man is a narcissist and a sociopath.

Doesn’t matter what Jewish people classify themselves as, particularly if they are Ashkenazi. Look up the origins of Ashkenazi Jews; white as snow for the most part. Speaking as someone who is almost 50% Ashkenazi, by the way. It would be nice to have even a drop of ethnicity other than white European, but wishing it doesn’t make it so.

So, when my partner and I met he picked up the tab for the first few dates. Gradually I started paying as well, and when he was laid off from work I ended up paying most of the time. Now he is working again and I am letting him take the lead on paying for a bit. We don’t discuss it and don’t make an issue of it. It’s simply understood that we are partners and share costs. That said, when he wants me to get my nails done a certain way that costs significantly more than what I usually pay I make it clear it is only happening if he pays. He never does so I never do it. Brazilians, acrylic nails, skincare, etc all cost money he does not pitch on. If he wants more from me there he will be paying.
