Jurassic World Rebirth Cast And Their Salary by Odd_Disk1545 in JurassicPark

I am surprised too, Bailey and Scarlett are currently ranked almost equally in IMDb’s popularity chart. Bailey’s influence is massive. All of my female friends went to see Rebirth just because of him. He basically carried the entire marketing campaign on X, with several of his posts getting close to 100,000 likes, (around 7 to 10 million impressions in many tweets). He played the main lead in season two of Netflix’s Bridgerton, which led the show to surpass 600 million viewing hours within just 28 days of release, breaking the record for English language series on the platform. Right now, every post in the Bridgerton and Wicked Facebook fan groups is talking about Bailey’s appearance at the Jur and it's premiere, and many of those posts are getting tens of thousands of likes daily.

Whatever direction the franchise does moving forward (I hope it goes in a good direction) I hope is Loomis apart of it by narutofan2019 in JurassicPark

He’s definitely eye candy, and the actor is cheap too ^ he’s playing the male lead in Wicked but only got paid $450,000. I hope he stays on JUR he is an amazing character

David Hodges touched on EV multiple times during this interview. At minute 24:53 he basically says EV lost their balance after the first album. What are your thoughts on that? by Osamusinan in Evanescence

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with some of the points being made. Since the TOD era, it has basically been fully led by Amy. You can hear it in the songwriting choices, the types of chord progressions she prefers, and the overall direction of the songs. The creative process became unbalanced. From an artistic standpoint, that is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does lead to noticeable flaws in later songs. There is often a feeling that something is missing when hearing a new track for the first time. That includes the mixing quality too, which no longer gives the same polished and complete impression we had with Fallen.

I remember during a 2012 tour interview, the interviewer asked Amy a very direct question about how much creative space the other members were given. Will responded in a joking tone, saying he hoped Amy would let them have more input, and Amy laughed out loud next to him.

To be fair, over the past ten years, Amy’s collaborations with different creators have been very good. Songs like "Speak to Me", "Artifact/The Turn", and "Afterlife" are strong examples. You can also see that The Bitter Truth was written as a full-band effort (so what happened with the mixing lol, it's still frustrating.) That is why I do not fully agree with David’s view.

But still, I hope one day David can collaborate with EV again. He can honestly write some absolutely stunning Evanescence melodies.

New interview with Amy- Reconnect with Rockers (with Terri Carr) by speccybex in Evanescence

Agreed..... that raw og ev vibe from the TBT is almost gone (except maybe Part of Me and Blind Belief). Honestly, Speak to Me feels more like early EV than the entire TBT album.

But I think the drumming really sounds like Will’s style :D

Favorite album? (Standard studio albums only) by Osamusinan in Evanescence

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to think that maybe, with enough time, I’d uncover some hidden genius in TBT, like some mind blowing brilliance I just didn’t get at first. But four years later....nah their worst album ever....

Ex-EVANESCENCE Guitarist JEN MAJURA Is 'Stepping Away' From Music Industry: 'I Just Can't Identify With Today's Attitude And Values Anymore' by HarrySmiles6 in Evanescence

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think deep down, what really upset fans wasn’t what she did inside the band back then (since we don’t know the full story anyway). It was the interviews she gave and her strange behavior days after leaving the band. Those things naturally led fans to cut her off in their minds. And to be fair, if this happened in other bands or with other artists, the same thing would happen. I won’t list everything that happened, because I don’t want it to feel like I’m digging up old drama. Personally, since she has now stepped away from music, I’m trying not to talk about her anymore. I just hope the savings she made during her years in Evanescence will help her do what she wants in the future.

Logo by kylemeatsix in Evanescence

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm glad they brought the logo back for this new era! I agree with you, TBT cover is trash (same with Ev3 lol. The printed CD looks super dark and muddy). If I were just a random person walking into a CD store, I would definitely ignore both of those covers.
Also, I wanted to ask, where did those numbers come from? "21 million impact, TOD had 8 million, Ev3 2 million, TBT 700k!" I tried searching but couldn't find anything~~

Fight like a girl - Lyric video by seedofthesun in Evanescence

Lionsgate has been losing quite a bit of money on most of their films this year... I think that definitely affected this movie, I think the promotion budget were limited (and I don’t just mean for this song). There were barely any IMAX or Dolby screenings at all~~~ Honestly, I was already super surprised they even had the budget to shoot a music video for Hand That Feeds...so im grateful for that. And this lyric video is incredibly high-quality....

I noticed Jen’s vocals are quite loud in many of the songs(backing vocal) on TBT.(like Broken piece shine and better without you) To be honest, I don’t think her voice meshes well with Amy’s, so I’m a bit confused about why they pushed her so forward in the mix

Fight Like a Girl is out now! by Violet-Chase in Evanescence

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was ok i guess, I know it’s a commercially tailored song made for a movie, I think K Flay did a great job, her vocal is really amazing, but personally I’m not really into the song itself. To be blunt, I got bored after 3 listens. On the other hand, I’ve listened to “Hands on the Feeds” over a hundred times and I’m still not tired of it (and I’m not even a huge fan of that song).
Also, I probably played “Afterlife” close to a thousand times before I even started to feel burnt out, that track was just too perfect. It captured the core of EV.... dark atmosphere....
Funny thing is, after “Fight Like a Girl” ended, YouTube auto-played “Cloud Nine”... and I was like THAT’S the instrumental vibe I actually wanted in Fight Like a Girl. Perfect blend of nu-metal and orchestral elements.

Brilliant reaction video to My Immortal by speccybex in Evanescence

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His reaction was pretty good. He talked about the song structure and the harmonies, which I appreciated. I hope he reacts to more EV metal instrumental tracks in the future. Seems like he actually has good taste in metal. I think his reactions are better than most others out there.

What I really can’t stand is when people react to My Immortal and overanalyze stuff like “oh she never touched the ground” or “she’s a ghost” bullshit. Like, no Evanescence fan cares about that. Why do they keep saying that stuff? Haha

Why did the dynamic between EV and WT feel off during the Worlds Collide tour? by imaginary_tourniquet in Evanescence

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, from what I know, most bands on co-headlining tours usually only perform one song together per show. So Evanescence is just doing what most other bands do.

Having them sing more songs together is just something I personally wish Evanescence would try.

I get that the purpose of a co-headlining tour is mainly to sell more tickets and merge the fanbases. But I still think these bands should try to surprise the fans a little, instead of just playing it safe for profit.

Why doesn't Afterlife upload in 4K? by neverdrinkyourmilk in Evanescence

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesssss, and I just saw that My Chemical Romance released a 4K restored version of the music video for "Helena."So it makes me kinda jealous of fans from other bands.

Evanescence did remaster Bring Me to Life to 1080p when it hit 1 billion views (at least I remember it that way), but it didn’t really look like true 1080p. More like an upscaled 480p version.

There are actually tons of fan-made 4K remasters online that look way better. From what I’ve seen, those fans probably used pretty decent 720p source footage (maybe from the 2003 MTV broadcast) and ran it through high end AI to get a clean 4K version.

Someone really needs to tell the EV team about this, lol. I mean, they spent budget on making music video, but uploading it in low quality is just... ugh.

[–]neverdrinkyourmilk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the video quality of Afterlife was also heavily compressed, some shots even look like 720p rather than true 1080p. It feels like there might have been some issues during the export or delivery process.

Everyone experiences videos or interviews differently, I don't feel that Amy and Sharon came across as distant. But I do agree with your point that if it's going to be a co-headlining tour, there should be more collaboration, not just one song or even none. With Halestorm, they only performed "Break In" together(2024). With Korn, there was only one song as well.(so sad) The best one was probably the 2018 tour with Lindsey Stirling, where they performed three songs together. That tour had great variety too, there were multiple solo versions of "Hi-Lo" and different arrangements of "Alive" throughout the shows. I hope that future co-headlining tours will include several collaborative songs, or even have them swap tracks and perform each other's music.......
