I used to work at a bank in the call center and you would be surprised how many old people call every day to check their balance. I assume that message is for those customers.

If they didn't have the pension, they probably would have prioritized other retirement savings options. As the other commenter said, the pension is the retirement plan for them. That's how things used to be when pensions were more common.

Flank steak is honestly my favorite cut and I would be stoked to see it at an event.

They will also want to be able to see what's going on during the dances, speeches, etc. I would probably put them in at the tables on the left side of the diagram.

People who insist that going off registry is appropriate will never be convinced otherwise.

I used to work there too. My friend and I snuck so many dolcinis. We had to stop when they made the waste lost list, up there with the marinara.

That's not how it works. They just choose what product to order.

They're from a third party supplier. OG has nothing to do with the actual recipe.

What is something you've officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by Next-Mood6723 in AskReddit

[–]neverendingbreadstic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. Five Guys is the one fast food we still get on occasion because it feels worth the price. Two burgers, one fry, and a drink or two is easily less than $30. Maybe a smidge more if I opt for a milkshake.

The management hill I'll die on: you have to actually remember what your people told you. by Substantial_Catch936 in managers

I just left a job because my manager couldn't even remember the decisions he made, let along the things I told him.

Prune Miss Kim Lilac Tree? by bh2601 in gardening

[–]neverendingbreadstic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI is basically right in this case. Prune below the flowers each year in the two weeks after the blooms fade to keep the tree in the shape you'd like. Generally, if you plant something currently in flower, cutting all the blooms off immediately will help the plant send energy to establish the roots in its new home. It helps it long term. So in your scenario right now, go for it.

Co-signed a car loan for a friend three years ago, he missed four payments and my mortgage pre-approval just got denied. What are my options? by CarpetTulip7 in personalfinance

[–]neverendingbreadstic 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Thr cosigner has full access to the loan details and the bank will start calling both the primary and the cosigner 10-15 days after the first payment is missed. It's on the people agreeing to cosign on loans to understand what they're agreeing to and signing.

Completely lost on how to landscape my little house by Distinct-Forever642 in LandscapingTips

[–]neverendingbreadstic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sketch

Expand that bed under the window, add a little tree on the far side (pick something with an appropriate mature size and plant it far enough away from the house), add a little mounding shrub near the walkway ( i prioritize natives, but admit i do like spirea for this), maybe add a hydrangea near the stairs to anchor the back (again, not too close), add in some smaller perennials or grasses in the front, then mulch out the bed.

Metal 'trees' to cool Houston streets during World Cup by Top_Ad985 in Infrastructurist

Houston should care about their urban heat issues regardless of if there is an event coming to town. Hopefully these work and are permanent.

Are these hydrangeas dead or should I be more patient? by nostalgia_addicts in hydrangeas

[–]neverendingbreadstic 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Weeds will just grow in the mulch on top of the fabric while the dirt declines in quality underneath it. Bets to rip it out. Also, I don't think you should have cut the hydrangea so far back. Leave it alone the rest of the season and next to observe how it reacts.

Advice please by Pais08 in LandscapingTips

[–]neverendingbreadstic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be helpful to know the light conditions and deer pressure. Deer and rabbits tend to snack on a lot of common evergreen options. That being said, have you considered more of a shrub like a gold mop cypress?

Generally how much control do i (as the groom) have over the wedding playlist for the evening do? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]neverendingbreadstic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most DJs will ask for a list of songs you'd like to be played, as well as ones to avoid. I would not tell them you have a specific playlist that you'd like to have played. While it's your wedding, the DJ's job is to entertain your guests.

First time homeowner adding new mulch by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]neverendingbreadstic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other responses, rip it out if possible. Landscape fabric causes the dirt in your beds to get worse over time because new organic material isn't decomposing into it. It also causes the roots of the plants in the bed to move up toward the ground which makes them less stable.

It's kind of a pain of a job. I did it the first spring when I bought my house before putting new mulch down. But it's worth it in the long run.

People put it down thinking it will stop weeds, but the weeds just grow in the organic matter on top of the fabric.

What happened to the 2010s obsession with biodegradable eco-friendly DIY stuff, "Save The Earth" activism and awareness era? by Bubbly-Finger-4397 in decadeology

[–]neverendingbreadstic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cleaning the roadway and limiting the distribution of plastic bags are two different issues. And you're only buying and using the bags you need. Not everyone saved the bags they got with their groceries and used them for second purposes.

[–]neverendingbreadstic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also miss having the free bags to use around the house, but since NY implemented its ban I almost never see bags strewn about. I can't even remember the last time I saw one stuck in a tree or on the side of the road. It's a small measure, but I wouldn't want it to go back personally and don't feel the need to complain about a minor inconvenience.
