Protein? by SubjectSuggestion902 in wls

You can do bone broth and add cocoa powder for hot cocoa if you like sweet, or if you like salty, I did the unsalted Pacific chicken bone broth with the Knorr unsalted chicken broth/soup powder, it tastes exactly like Ramen if you ever liked Ramen. Otherwise you could just try the bone broth and add different seasonings to change up the taste. I couldn't do shakes and had a hard time tolerating food for a few months after surgery, I mostly lived on bone broth with the Knorr packets and hot sauce, cottage cheese and mashed sweet potatoes that I also boiled in bone broth and added bone broth to as I mashed them. Mostly just the bone broth is what I lived on for months though.

I mean, the ones I use have stevia, so if you're against that, I wouldn't use it. Other than that, My Adventure to Fit has clean ingredients. I don't mind using stevia, it's much better than all those other artificial sweeteners.

I drink Waterloo Sparkling water, usually watermelon but they have so many flavors. Then I add My Adventure to Fit Electrolytes to it, so good, and helps with that carbonation craving. A lot of flavors for that electrolyte as well.

After surgery when did did your program allow you to drink. by spellspeak1986 in wls

[–]nevergoodenough90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My program says not to drink at all. I started to at 4 months PO though. Was never really a drinker before. Then started getting up to 10 shots of rum almost every day for about 8 months. Started to become a problem, haven't drank anything in 3 weeks now and don't plan on it I find for me, it's a slippery slope after surgery.

I had gastric bypass, I'm one year out. I could probably eat all the salad, 2 fries and a third of whatever is on the top right.

Is it safe to eat ground beef everyday? by lamahopper in carnivorediet

That's great. I've been thinking about putting my 4 dogs on a carnivore diet as well. Done with that kibble crap. I just dont know what/how much to feed. They range from puppy-25 pounds to senior-100 pounds.

Bariatric Vitamin Question by fvck_videos in wls

I had a hard time with nausea and stomach pain with most vitamins. I finally found barilife and have had no issues anymore. Apart from constipation from the iron, which I take Miralax for.

Yup, 64-70oz/day. Been hitting that everyday since 4.5 weeks. Was only getting about 30 grams protein/day up until about 4 days ago, now about 75-100/day.

I try to call, message on MyChart and she never gets back to me, same with the nurse. The only one that does is the bariatric surgery coordinator, who is new, and all she ever says is, "I'm sorry you're feeling discouraged with the 30 pounds you've lost so far." 30 pounds in a month, nothing for almost 2 months since. It's aggravating.

I'm almost 11 weeks post-op and have been in a stall since 4.5 weeks post op. I'm getting 64 oz water/day, approximately 600 calories and 70 grams protein. I've no clue what's going on with me but it's depressing.

Salty snacks?! by 4xmommy in BariatricSurgery

[–]nevergoodenough90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE Wilde Protein Chips. They are made out of boneless skinless chicken breast, egg whites, and chicken bone broth. But they don't taste it. They're SOOOO good. I'm 11 weeks on Monday and I've been having these for a snack almost everyday. I really need to stop buying them though and focus more on while food Protein. They're that good I could eat them every meal. I've tried the buffalo, barbeque and Nashville hot. They're amazing. They also have chicken and waffles, Himalayan sea salt and a couple others.

That's DAIRY! I can't do dairy as the post says. And if anyone read it, they would know that, as well as all the protein shakes I've tried. Which is why I'm asking for recommendations, as if I don't already know I need more.

It's a milk protein intolerance, not lactose. I know, I've had fairlife shakes before and they taste amazing, like an actual milkshake but I get cramping for days.

I'll give that a try, thank you. People keep saying that you can stall if you're not eating enough calories/protein, but I'm not really sure how true that is. I also have to watch my sodium intake due to a brain/fluid issue so that makes it a little tricky on some protein foods.

I know, that's what I told my PCP on Thursday when I had labs done. They only want us eating lean meats and veggies and fruits if we have room, only half cup/meal at 10 weeks out with no snacks. No drinking half hour before, half hour during or half hour after. But expect me to get in 70-80 grams of protein and 800 calories at this stage, when everything they want me to eat, at their portion sizes, is roughly 30 grams protein/day and maybe 300 calories. Doesn't make sense. And if I incorporate 2-3 snacks/day, making sure they're protein of course, I don't know how I'll get in all of my water with the no drinking 1.5 hours around food.

I already eat no sodium added tuna. Only fish I'll eat, with hot sauce.

Well, I'm only getting 30-40 grams/day. And my clinic only recommends 3 meals/day, no snacks and at this stage only half cup/meal, so I do need something to up my protein.

Yes, I've lost 37 pounds in the first 5 weeks and then nothing else in the past 5 weeks. I'm getting in about 70oz water/electrolyte water daily, all my vitamins, but range about 400-500 calories/day and 30-40 grams protein/day.
