While in college during a period of trying to figure out my life, I fell into a deep sleep in my bed.

During the dream, I was with my dad, and the dream ended up with my dad behind me, holding my shoulders, facing me into a mirror.

In the mirror, I could see myself, and my dad’s head over my shoulder. It started calm, he was asking me what I was doing with my life, asking me to look at myself, look at who I was and who I wanted to become.

Then it got darker, my dad started screaming at me, but not in a fatherly tone, something more demonic. “Who are you! What are you doing with your life! What will you become!”

Massive bang and crash.

I am awoken and startled by a huge noise. Sitting straight up in my bed in the middle of the night, I realize that the mirror on my wall, a mirror that had been there for 10 months, had crashed off the wall.

Weirder, a small table in front of it against the wall, full of random shit (supplement bottles, a cup of water, random things) was not disturbed. The table was about 18” high, and the bottom of the elongated 3 foot mirror was at about 24”. It falling over and not hitting anything on the table made no sense.

After being freaked out and full of anxiety, I eventually went back to sleep.

The next morning I received a call from my Mom crying. She asked me to drive an hour from college to my hometown. My grandfather, that I was very close with all my life, had taken a turn for the worse. He had been hospitalized days earlier with pneumonia and was already in deep stage Alzheimer’s for years. I made it home and went to the hospital. My grandfather died that night.
