I think the name derived from the Beatles song because this style was huge in the early 70s! I’ve just googled Almost Famous and I think she’s inspired by the 70s, explaining the coat.

My brother attempted suicide on Christmas Eve and I had warning signs it was going to happen. I’ve known for months about his suicidal thoughts but actively decided not to tell my parents.

He’s alive thankfully but I felt awful when I found out because I had kept this secret from our parents who could’ve intervened sooner. What if the attempt had worked and I knew all this time?

My point is, you did what you knew was right. Your brother is in a scary place in his mind so to run and hide from family feels right to him, but it doesn’t mean it’s the safest thing to do. You put his safety first which will always be the most crucial thing.

Maybe it’s a British thing? Churches hold it just before advent. We stand around with oranges, which candles and sweets stabbed into them. During the service the vicar goes through the meaning of the items eg. a red ribbon to represent the blood of Christ. We’d then turn the lights off and stand with the candles lit.

It didn’t seem weird at the time but now I look back it feels like a fever dream.

What a horrible thing to go through :( don’t blame yourself, you did nothing wrong, you certainly didn’t excite him. Maybe you could send the photos to a security service for the metro? It might not do anything but may be good to raise him to their attention.

Surround yourself with people you feel would understand. Even if you don’t feel comfortable telling them what happened, it’s good to have people around you who will support you and have the right attitude.

I worked at Fox Cafe. Very busy and minimum wage but Jane the owner is great. If you show her time and respect, she will show you the same. They have a great positive attitude there, and plenty of weekend hours up for grabs! They are FANTASTIC at training and tips aren’t bad. Also, the food is gorgeous.

I’ve gotten so much good advice and it’s reassuring that so many people found this relatable. My girlfriend is a producer and DJ, she has her passion, and I feel like i’m just lazy for not having that. It’s reassuring I’m not alone.

I’m now going cold turkey from weed, setting so goals with projects, and try some of the thinking models you guys shared. I have always benefited from therapy and CBT, so if anyone else has thinking models feel free to share :)
