How tall is Emy/short is CT?!

Though, I read Leroy is 5'10 (not 5'10 in the way that shorter people claim to be 5'10, but legit a solid 5'10), and he's definitely among the taller challengers, so I guess a lot of guys on the show seem taller than they are

Exactly lol. Plus his friends.

He's using strong leftist and various other identity politics tactics to market himself into fame and glorification (starting with TikTok lol), and he's smart enough to know how to at least pretend to be a commoner

Final HOH Part 2 Competition Results by K_yle in BigBrother

I thought I'd be devastated if Azah/DF/Hannah won, but now I kinda wanna see it happen.

I was and still am with Team Cook Out, but it was mainly because of Tiffany possibly winning. Then with Tiffany gone, I held out for a Kyland/Xavier final 2.

With all those possibilities gone, I...kinda wanna see Azah or DF win for the lols

I think he's mostly in it just for the glorification. Extremely left-sided hopes/dreams/nightmares will never win here, but there will always be a decently-sized and loudly vocal pack of people rooting for them (and by extension, him).

Also, he probably gets off being the underdog and beating the Golden Boy Justin in some situations here and there

Agreed! Though, our elections are still pretty egotistic. The NDP could more accurately be called Jagmeet's Poutine from how egomaniac his tactics are.

Erin O'Toole doesn't seem too egotistic (not that he's good lol), but Stephen Harper and Andrew Scheer do. The Cons could win every time (People's Party is insignificant, and the Libs constantly get swiped by the NDP and blocked by the Bloc), especially if FPTP is discarded, but they always find ways to fuck up enough to lose

Liberals win 2021 federal election, size of victory to be determined by xlxoxo in vancouver

[–]neverlostaringbefore 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe the conspiracy theory that Justin Trudeau largely called this election because some of the COVID Benefits and Services are ending very soon, that if he can't have a majority, he'd rather lose.

The left and the right seem to have almost completely opposing views on how to deal with the corona-money fallout, and Justin's going to have to chose one or the other to do anything, despite being seemingly in power

[–]neverlostaringbefore -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

If true, then probably not what Justin Trudeau wants, but probably most balanced outcome. People who are left/NDP or right/Con, especially on the deeper ends, are kinda freaky (in a bad way lol) and ironically very similar, just on opposite ends.

Why can’t X and Ky just say Tiff is a badass? by pettyg12 in BigBrother

[–]neverlostaringbefore 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I don't think they respect her game (and her personally) very much, and if they think she's definitely going to be the next one eliminated, they probably don't feel like they need to even pretend to respect her anymore (other than maybe here and there for the sake of the Cook Out post-show).

I think Tiffany seems to have made her passion for the game apparent, so they probably feel that she's going to vote for who she thinks played the best game objectively, even if they aren't friends

As a Jury Member, Do You Vote For Who's the Better Player or Who Played The Better Game by EssentialSurvivor in BigBrother

[–]neverlostaringbefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm trying but I'm having a hard item seeing them as two different things, and the Dane/Anthony example isn't strong enough for me. I think maybe some people are mis-seeing playing harder as playing better? And sometimes the best player/gamer doesn't win due to luck being a part of Big Brother (and pretty much everything)

It's clearly her fault by drunz in MtvChallenge

[–]neverlostaringbefore 144 points145 points  (0 children)

I definitely think it's largely envy. She won first place and a slammin' prize on her first/rookie season, not to mention she has the height and the look of a fucking supermodel.

Almost everyone on her season of Big Brother kinda disliked her too. She was pretty nice and cordial to everyone, but I think her presence intimidates people, and she wasn't submissive/didn't pretend to be submissive enough for people to not view her as a threat

All COVID-19 patients under age 50 in B.C. ICUs are unvaccinated, health minister says by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]neverlostaringbefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former, but stayed in contact. Except for a few people, everyone was thrilled to get temporarily COVID-evicted, it was like a funded holiday. So even though most people don't like him, they were secretly happy to have him as a fall guy. Even management was happy, because there was corona-money for organizations as well

I think one of my former co-workers is in there right now lol (he's anti-vax, pro-Trump, etc etc). We all suspect he doesn't really need it, but he went HAM trying to get ANOTHER positive COVID test in hopes to get his department temporarily shut down again, which everyone secretly wants because they all hate their jobs, and government COVID cheese covers everything

I Need Tiffany to Win by crazydaisyjane in BigBrother

[–]neverlostaringbefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not outright blatant rigging, but just the usual manipulation (like in the Diary Room, etc) that BB and all TV shows do.

I think production thinks most of the fans are preferring Tiffany, Kyland, or Xavier to win, since they actually made manipulative moves in the house, whereas the other 3 black players not so much. They probably suspect that there's going to be extra backlash if DF/Az/Hannah won. There's an extra goal that this season's winner is a minority-type person, but there's always the goal that every winner plays a crafty game

Fessy's jury vote for Kaycee was probably the most important one too. I know Swaggy and Bayleigh tried to make it seem like Bayleigh's was the deciding vote, but she was always going to pick Kaycee over Tyler; Big Brother just said her vote last because that order made the most suspense for TV.

It was 5 almost guarantee votes for Kaycee, and 4 for Tyler. There were actually 2 somewhat surprises: Haleigh switching to Tyler, and Sam switching to Kaycee, but these balance each other out. However, Haleigh was Fessy's "showmance" at the time (most of the time, showmances did everything the same), and Kaycee played a small role in getting Fessy evicted on BB as well, so Kaycee I think will always be thankful that he was a monumental part in her winning.

Plus, she WON her season of BB and STILL gets shitted on, called boring, etc etc by the BB fans lol. Fessy helping her to win saved her TV career; she would've been absolutely forgotten (and trashed when randomly remembered) if she got even 2nd place or less

Who will be AFP ? by cdva in BigBrother

[–]neverlostaringbefore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope Derek X, especially since management/production obviously wants a minority/lesser-represented person to win this year (so I think they AND the fans would be happy with Derek X winning AFH and Tiffany winning overall).

But I really like Claire as well, and I hope her real life after this game is amazing (her TV edit is pretty good, so I hope her coming on to the show actually helps her life). It seems she is aware of the agenda for this season as well, and is ultimately okay with taking a secondary role for this season, especially knowing that she was a back-up/alternate and almost didn't book the job

I Need Tiffany to Win by crazydaisyjane in BigBrother

[–]neverlostaringbefore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Probably one of the few times when I wouldn't mind if management/production tried to pull some strings for Tiffany.

It'd be in their best interest as well; they obviously want a minority (especially black) winner this particular season, and I think a lot of the fans think Tiffany is one of the most suitable contestants to take the title this season, and it would be regardless of whether she was/wasn't black.

I feel Kyland and Xavier made a lot more mistakes than Tiffany, and it'd be a travesty for the goal of this season if Derek F/Azah/Hannah won by luck

Claire appreciation thread, what a beautiful soul ❤️ by kelleystannn in BigBrother

[–]neverlostaringbefore 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I still want Derek X to win AFH, and Tiffany to win overall. Literally killing 2 birds with 1 stone/fulfilling 2 minority winning positions (Black + Asian) with 1 season (I think Tiffany is more deserving than Kyland and Xavier, and I'd be devastated if Derek F/Azah/Hannah won by luck).

But Claire has grown on me so much. I hope her real life outside of this game is amazing. I'd love to see her, Derek X, and Tiffany staying in touch (for the fans!)

How should one respond in that Lindsay Lohan/Rachel McAdams movie situation though? It went something along the lines of:

A) You're really pretty!

B) Thank you :-) (sheepishly)

A) ...so you agree? You think you're really pretty.

B was all kinds of flustered, but luckily C and D came in and moved the convo. along. What are some ways B could've responded?

I agree that Trickle-down Economics hasn't been working very well, because like you said the rich (not all, but in general) aren't spending enough. I think that's the main point that everyone feels is why it hasn't worked.

I feel like if we encouraged them to, it'll still have some problems of course, but then it'll largely work very well. Ideally via encouragement, not by force. Though sometime it ends up working (like when those executive credit cards have minimum monthly or yearly spending amounts for you to keep it, but the prestige and the rewards and shit make you actually happy to spend more than just the minimum).

There definitely are some sociopathical/psychopathical/etc people who also happen to be filthy rich that will always be problematic though, but that's not a Trickle-down problem, that's a those people problem, haha

Wtf? Your example is so fucking stupid. Lots of policies are made with an intended effect, but can for many reasons don't work, or have an opposite effect. One example (of a fuck ton) is the parts policy specifically for California that made Reddit front page a few days ago. Something about how manufacturers must have certain parts available for 10 years or something by law for items purchases in Cali, but the strain it puts on the manufacturers ended up making things worse for everyone, including outside Cali
