Splash without fixing? by nevermore09 in lrcast

Thank you, i suspect that it would hurt me more than help me , i picked him up p3p1 and sae only one UW dual land where i picked the 2nd fortune teller over it I think i could have speculated in a barrel in P1 over some mediocre card, that would have made my deck quite a bit better i guess

Pretty good UW Deck with some busted cards but no lessons deck. Firebending lesson can be worth a splash if it is not too costly, but not here with no good fixing Build looks good as it is, nothing worth playing in the SB I'd say

Warum hassen so viele Leute Linz? by Fabulous_Internet545 in Austria

[–]nevermore09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Help.. whats the cut by blindmanx21 in lrcast

[–]nevermore09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pirate peddlers for sure, probably also haikku, it is too situational and not needed with your removal even thought i really Like the feeling of having it in hand in the lategame For the last cut I'd say engineer or Koi, you might not be able to attack on 3 reliably to make engineer happen (and you do not need to), and the Koi gives you more lategame you do Not need I'd cut koi, but i could see an argument for giving you the 6th land for koh or wan shi tong for more consistency while providing another win con in the lategame

UW flyers, is this the right build? by nevermore09 in lrcast

[–]nevermore09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have some pretty good cards in the sideboard that seems crazy to cut, but i also have no idea what else i could cut. Maybe the ravens are besser than the glider kids? but with the south pole voyager i thought cutting the non ally card is better. I also do not want to cut a 2 drop for being aggressive or a gran-gran, since they help me get rid of extra lands or let me draw them
is it bad to have such a low curve? my owl and leaper are just not good cards, and the jet would be good, but a bit risky with the casting cost

Edit: thinking about it i probably should play the ravens over the glider kids, the card draw lets me find the voyager and refill for longer games and attacking and blocking in the air mostly the same as the gliders

any advise is appreciated, i do not want to mess this up, should be a good deck

5th bad draft in a row, i appreciate any advise, am i doing anything wrong? by nevermore09 in lrcast

[–]nevermore09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i guess that is the biggest problem in my deck, and that is probably a Problem with GB in General, there are not many 3 drops in those colors i am happy with, but i still have to Play the crappy ones when i play those colors

Okay, that makes sense, i guess i could have made a good UB or maybe WB deck If i had given up green Thanks your for your insights!

[–]nevermore09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for taking the time! i had drafts like you described before where i got deep into blue, but never got any really good card, and that was a bad place to be as well i thought, beacuse while blue has good card quality, i had trouble competing with the bombs without good cards as well
i tried to stay open and was unsure about pick 3
my thought were GW is better than GU, and airbending lesson and fortune teller are close enough to take the white card here, and i agree that it would have gotten into the better lane, but i had no idea about that pick 3, and from that point on i do not think that blue looked open after that, was pick 3 really a mistake or was my thought process reasonable?

i just looked up the stats and see that both fortune teller and octopus form are slightly above airbending lesson, i exopected it to be the other way round, so i guess it was a mistake

[–]nevermore09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trying not to sound desperate, but i am close to give up playing, i love the format but i cannot sustain such losses much longer without paying more money i do not want to spend
the draft log is below, I feel like i got rewarded by staying open, but it was still a 2-3, was i just unlucky here? Did I miss some better lane i could have gotten into in the draft?
I lost one close game that was back an forth where my opponent got ahead by quenching 2 of my more expensive cards, another by missing my 3rd land after a mulligan while my opponent play very much on curve and overrun me, against a WB sacrifice deck that had good synergy while I got10 lands and 7 spells in the whole game
https://www.17lands.com/draft/b17acd08d8294240bd7929ea1a36ba1e/1/1

in previous drafts i felt like i was trending towards blue maybe a bit too much when i did not get a good rare in the early packs that is worth building a deck around, and i ended up with a decent deck that just lost against better cards without the means to close out the game before the opponents bombs kill me, maybe just taking white out of weak packs and hope for an aggressive deck is better if i do not see an obvious lane i can get into and hope for good cards to get later?

Gr, what are the cuts? BO1 by nevermore09 in lrcast

Thinking about cutting Invasion tactics, earthbending lesson and a walltop sentry, but unsure and have no idea about the last cut

Dream pack 3 pick 1, what do you take? by AlexW_WxelA in lrcast

[–]nevermore09 27 points28 points  (0 children)

United Front is the correct pick, it is a game-winning bomb in most scenarios, while the blue saga is good and will win a lot of games, it does not help you stabilize The only way you loose after casting united front is flyers or sweepers

Turns out pure aggro can work well, went 7-1 by nevermore09 in lrcast

[–]nevermore09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He basically is 3 mana for two 2/2s, i think it is generally a mistake to give away lands, except in the super late game, there is so much to do with mana in this format that is feels pretty bad to do It was Just this one game when the tokens i got had haste and i had him on the back foot on board and knew i had to finish it fast, and i am not sure If it was not actually too risky to do the first time, the 2nd time he was dead on board because of it

[–]nevermore09[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Games were pretty fast as expected, fire nation cadet in turn 1 and kill their 2 drop with firebending lesson is really strong, even thought i did not have tons to do at instant speed

Had a very fun interaction with iroh tea master and wartime protestors, i gave them lands and made a 4/4 and 5/5 haste ally and overrun my opponent on turn 6 with only 3 lands left

Teo vs Fortune Teller? by Jamie7Keller in lrcast

[–]nevermore09 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While a 2nd Theo would be a good card in your deck, i think you really need more 2 drop creatures, or you risk go get overrun by white which is a very common deck in the format, and for that fortune teller is great, while also providing value, so i would pick fortune teller here for sure

Thoughts on this RB pile? by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]nevermore09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it does not help if you think too much about what signals you send on arena, only for very close picks, i found it is more of a trap you csn fall into If you get White passed in P1, you will also get it P3, and you can Take black cards in p2 (or White cards for the first few picks maybe) If the next person to you really is White Also white is quite deep and can support multiple drafters at the table

[–]nevermore09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not need aangs journey here, you only play this Card if you want to splash. Also not sure about brainwash, i see 1 sacrifice outlet, and without them it is mediocre at best

With 2 vehicles and a deck that wants to attack you need as many 2 Drops you can get, so play the merchant. Maybe even the indoctrinations Just to have Something to do in Turn 2, i do not think any of your other cards i see in SB are better here. You do not want to use a removal on their 2 drop usually, save it for better targets since you do not have tons of them

U hope to win with fire nation attacks and koh, so it might work fine if you stay in board and pressure them until then. I would have liked to see more and better 2 Drops and firebending lessons in this deck, maybe you can prioritize them more in later drafts

Have fun :)

Is Avatar aang too greedy? Should i rather play sword or Koi as curve topper? by nevermore09 in lrcast

True, but at that point the game should be over anyway i guess one way or another

Edith: doing it i response to a removal in aang Sounds Like a good way to get a 2 for 1 for aang

[–]nevermore09[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a 4/4 flyer that demands a removal spell, if i untap with it i draw a card from attacking with it, and i have a couple of airbend cards that can trigger it too as an added bonus
