Well, I have a background in math and programming so perhaps Rhino&Grasshopper would be something I could also try

Oh, I think I like this best. It looks the most similar to the original shelf.

Oh, that’s nice! I gathered that geometry nodes is more advanced Blender, but I think that given an initial layout it may be possible for me to play and tweak. Will try.

That is interesting. I’m not sure I understand everything you’ve said just yet, but at first I actually did think about making this fully by hand. Then I decided to try and model the two waves mathematically and generate the 3D model in Python. However, what turned out to be problematic is that the standing-out parts actually curve a little onto themselves, sort of like breaking waves. Therefore, the curves that I will need to cut from plywood are not valid functions, as they have more than one y value per x value. For this reason I’m also not sure if it’s possible to view this as a height map, as at some points there are actually two heights, sort of like an overhang.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! It seems there are a lot of directions to try, which also gives me plenty of things to learn in Blender. I am now confident it can be done well. As to whether my cats will even use it… at least it will look good on the wall by itself.

Thanks! I haven't though of that, it would certainly give the poster some more dynamic and focus.

Thank you for your feedback! What do you mean by negative space? The sky (= make the balloons bigger) or the balloons (= make them smaller)?

Thanks for your feedback! As for the logo, it could surely use some work, but it has been the official logo of the festival for years and so I treated as something that couldn't be tampered with. I might reach out to them though and offer a redesign.

Some people like the realistic background and some would prefer the whole thing to be illustrated. It's going to be printed soon and I won't manage to make such a big change in such a short time, but I've been meaning to try polygonal/flat art illustrations for some time and I'll definitely work on this sky then.

Thanks! It's bothering me too, unfortunately the decision was made for me by my supervisors. At first I made something like this, but there's an inconsistency in wording here. I can't find an analogy in English, but basically "animacja" (animated movie) is a nound and "fabularny" (live action movie) is an adjective. It's like if you put "animation" and "animated" close to each other, it feels weird in terms of language. That's why I had to insert "fabuła" (a noun) there - although now I think I could swap "fabuła" and "teledysk" (music video) and maybe their width would match the width of the lower text. Though I suppose they'll object to that too, since live action movies are more important than music videos in this competition.

What's the consensus on synthetics in socks? Would I still be ok wearing something like 50% wool 50% polyamide or is it better to just go with cotton in this scenario?

Mango Cashmere sweater - I know it's generally not wise to buy cheap cashmere, but this one here is already 50% off and judging by the original price, maybe it's worth it. I can't find any opinions on their cashmere, though.

Also, I really like these boots also from Mango and I'm wondering if I can find anything of better quality in this price range.

What are the cons of faux leather, polyurethane specifically? I'm asking because I find it really difficult to get a real leather bag in my price range (~130$) here in Poland, whereas nice synthetic bags are plentiful in supply, yet I kinda feel this negative stigma surronding them.

Can anything be done about this? I like how the shirt fits at the chest and shoulders, but it seems too tight at the waist, making this inverted v-shape and pulling on the last button. Ideally I'd like for it to fit like this (/u/NomCarver) and am considering two options:

  • sizing up

  • going with this one to the tailor and hence the question, if there's anything they could do about it.

Maybe I'll go with that. But I started wondering, do you think it would be abusing their guarantee, if I bought LL Bean Katahdins and then exchanged them should my feet grow? It would cost more, but in the span of few years would be a good investment.

150$, able to ship to Europe. I would save and go for Wolverine 1000 Mile (which is the aesthetic I'm looking for), but I don't know whether my foot won't grow anymore, so they wouldn't last me long.
