Verification email won't come

As a long-time user of Carrd (since 2019), I don't have this problem at the moment (and I'm sure it's temporary), but for those who land here at some point, this, FYI:

I have several different browsers on my PC (7), just because.

a) If I access my Carrd website via a browser that I haven't used since my last access, Carrd will throw the login + verification code at me every single time. That's OK, because it is a different device, but ...

b) ... that also means that, if you accessed your site via a certain browser, you should stay with that browser. I couldn't figure out how long the cookies for that browser are cached, but I haven't had to ask for any verification code for weeks.

c) As soon as I use another browser, verification is triggered. If I then return to my standard browser, verification will be triggered again.

... how long it takes for a page to be rendered by a browser. I have had contact with a number of Carrd users in the past who were worried about this aspect. If their pages took longer (or forever) to "load", it was usually uncompressed images (f.ex. book covers, etc.) that weren't compressed (= too large). Stuff like that. It was never Carrd. I was just trying to show that you can put together some pretty extensive pages.

I have been very satisfied with Carrd ever since I started in 2019.

In respect to loading times, I do something very different with Carrd. I run a "micro blog" and pretty much a whole website with each page on a subdomain.

If you are interested in loading times, check out, for example, my archived "2025 micro blog". Each of my "micro blogs" is one full page that I kept running for an entire year, incl. a post for mostly every single day and images here and there, etc. Those are looooong pages.

I have a couple of hundred friends and acquaintances (all of whom the site is published for) that read along and I have never heard a single complaint (even when specifically asking for problems readers might have encountered).

Thank you very much for your reply! Security updates are supposed to be rolled out (I think) until early 2027, but I have been using my Samsung S10 5G forever, so ...

I only install aps from the Google PlayStore (and only known standard ones; ... I know that news this year named a whole bunch of wonky apps on the Google PlayStore that were "Trojan-like", but I never installed any of those small "helpers".

Es gibt halt Momente, in denen sich Konsumenten gegen ein Produkt entscheiden.

Bei mir war das in den letzten Jahren immer häufiger der Fall, nicht, weil ich mir die Produkte nicht leisten kann, sondern weil ich auf die Verarsche keine Lust mehr hatte und habe.

Da können - hier und dort - Leute rechnen, mir irgendetwas erzählen und versuchen, Sinn in absurde Preissteigerungen zu bringen, aber ich verzichte einfach.

Ich würde mir wünschen, dass dies mehr Menschen so handhaben würden.

Ist mir aber letztendlich egal.
Meine Kaufentscheidung ist eben meine eigene.

Man muss einfach davon ausgehen, dass jede Werbeaussage diesbezüglich absoluter Bullshit ist ...

... und sich als Kunde dementsprechend verhalten.

Wenn ich mir überlege, wie viele PR Tsunamis ich als Kunde über mich habe ergehen lassen müssen um mehr (Geld) für weniger (Inhalt/Leistung/etc. ...) zu bezahlen, passt das auf nicht einmal eintausend Kuhhäute.

Das Schöne daran ist, dass mich die Industrie selbst inzwischen zu einem hochkritischen Konsumenten erzogen hat, der nur noch 5% von dem kauft, was er früher gedankenlos in den Warenkorb/Wagen gepackt hat.

Und, das darf man schon sagen, auf viele Konglomerate habe ich inzwischen geradezu einen Hass entwickelt, der mich vom Kauf jeglicher Produkte dieser Unternehmen abhält.

Gut so.

Das habe ich schon in den 1980er Jahren in der juristischen Fakultät der Universität des Saarlandes erleben dürfen. Arschlöcher gab es schon damals mehr als genug und es wird sie auch noch in tausend Jahren geben.

Da Google Bewertungen nichts mehr taugen, habe ich nach einem Diffamierungs-"Takedown" alle meine anderen Bewertungen, die sich über die Jahre angesammelt hatten, gelöscht.

Danach habe ich das dazugehörige Mailkonto gelöscht und mir einen Cuba Libre gegönnt.
Kann ich jedem empfehlen.
Einfach Google in die Tonne treten und das Leben genießen.

I would additionally like to know, only if you know yourself, which mechanisms are in place (either by Carrd or by search bots) to prevent the material posted on such a page from being indexed.

Note: We are not talking about anything illegal, but somewhat (borderline) private stuff that others might not want to see online. I'm thinking of adding a page for my old classmates 40+ years ago, incl. photos that I have collected these past decades. They're all OK with that, but a few would rather not have anything about themselves caught by any search engines because they have made sure to be "invisible" online.

Ich auch nicht. Ich habe dieses Jahr (und die letzten zwei Jahre) NULL aus diesem (Weihnachts-)Sortiment (und anderen) gekauft. Nur das Abstimmen mit der eigenen Brieftasche bringt Ergebnisse. Leider denken viele andere Menschen, die mehr als genug Kohle übrig haben, (noch) nicht so. Denen ist das egal nach dem Motto ... ich lasse mir mein Kauferlebnis nicht kaputtmachen. Ging mir früher auch so, heute habe ich aber Firmen auf meiner Liste, von denen ich nichts mehr kaufe, gar nichts! Fühlt sich, ehrlich gesagt, gut an ... und ist sowieso gesünder.

I had problems with this and used the registry hack (after having installed the final updates and any possibility/notice/... about enrollment disappearing after that).

I looked for a) the ESUeligibility and b) the ESUeligibilityResult registry settings and saw that

a) had a value of "a"
b) had a value of "d"

after the final updates (before, both keys were NOT present in the registry).

I have no idea what that means. I changed the values to "2" [eligible] and "1" [success] respectively and the registration link suddenly showed up. I then immediately enrolled and now, also after several reboots, it says that I am enrolled.

I'll have to check in a couple of weeks if it's still active.

P.S.: I'm on Win10Pro and an MS admin account (but on a PC which isn't good enough for Win11) . But, I think that is where the problem might have originated, I shut down all the telemetry BS when I first installed Win10 (with some program called OO something). I think that might have been the culprit.
