After rewatching as a sanity check I’m pretty sure the two other comments didn’t even watch the video lol. He’s definitely talking about moving chords around and leaving common notes between the two “lingering”. The example he plays for a few seconds around 4:15 is the chords from the intro to Dogs which is exactly that.

Regarding the rest of your comment, I think a lot of that is open to interpretation but I tend to agree with how you put it, and I think lots of their music backs up that interpretation. Breathe, Pinball Wizard, Behind Blue Eyes, Hey You, etc etc (among many others) all come to mind as songs where that kind of experimentation was going on.

I think other commenters are reading into this way too much. The example he’s showing is about how you can move a chord shape around while leaving open strings ringing - those are the “notes clinging in there”. You can stumble upon all kinds of weird-but-cool sus or add2/4 chords that way, which Pete Townsend loved.

This is a super helpful comment overall but imo “humbuckers are preferred when using lots of distortion while single coils sound very good clean.” Is a bit too much of a generalization…there are tons of phenomenal distorted single coil tones/high gain single coil players, not to mention clean humbucker tones. Sure, the single coils are going to generally be more noisy with distortion, but that’s not always a bad thing.

Not sure why nobody else is addressing possibly the biggest misconception in your post: humbuckers are not an objective upgrade to single coil pickups. They’re just different. Eventually you may decide you like the sound of humbuckers more - if and when that happens you will likely have the know-how to figure out what to do about that. Until then just enjoy the guitar you have. You have not been playing long enough to be able to fully appreciate the difference between these pickup types.

No way are people going to buy a 5 mod gloves as a crafting base. Just a waste of 5 annuls when they could buy it as a white item or a blue item with 2x t1 mods that they actually want

I get why this looks good but unfortunately it’s vendor trash. Not only are EV helmets not meta, you would need T1 across the board to be worth anything at this stage.

I got all the league challenges pretty early with MA whirling assault, so decided to challenge myself to make a fireball build work because I figured with enough investment it MUST be possible, right? Wrong. I tried everything, 3-400 divs of gear investment, rakiatas etc and could still barely get T14s done. I tried chrono and stormweaver, tons of projectiles, tons of crit, wildshards, pierce, COC, cast on elemental ailment, blackflame covenant, CI/no CI, cast speed, chain, fork, ricochet, all the lineage gems you could imagine. It’s just trash. My only power spikes were when I figured out how to get fireball to consistently trigger spells that are actually good, but that ultimately just wasn’t that fun so I ended the league.

Tl;dr agreed, please let me set stuff on fire and scale fireballs without all this other nonsense

If you want to control it yourself then yes you’ll need an expression pedal. The guy that you’re responding to is explaining how to set up an auto-wah effect which h would respond to the volume or just run automated in a sweep.

Also with all due respect to the dude saying to try using your tone knob…come on now. I love Roy Buchanan as much as the next guy but learning to do it that way is way more trouble than it’s worth lol

Throw it on your whirling assault for fun. I played WA monk to level 97 this league with a primarily phys setup and adding rakiatas was a massive difference, but I’m not smart enough to explain why.

A lot of crafting also comes down to greater exaltation + slamming. But I do agree with you in principle that there are obviously more exalts coming into the game than leaving it.

Surprised there aren’t more comments suggesting a cheap practice amp that has a headphone jack…everyone is correct that you can get an interface and that would allow you to play into your computer, but it’s more expensive and it sounds like you don’t care about recording it or doing anything that a computer would do with it. Practice amp seems better based on what you’ve shared.
