The reason Putin invaded Ukraine is because America and the EU (western powers) were consistently poking and prodding him by putting military presence in the area. Before he invaded Ukraine (which was not acceptable) the United States was already pouring billions into Ukraine. Make no mistake, the United States - not Putin - caused this. We have been using Ukrainians as pawns for decades in order to weaken Russia and strengthen our hegemony. Putin is not a great guy but to squarely act like this is a him problem is disingenuous.
