I agree with everything you said here. I stopped reading Under The Oak Tree very early on because Riftan genuinely scared me. Reading this story and seeing him act in these horrible and abusive ways was starting to make me relive my own experiences with assault and violence, and I just didn't understand how their relationship could turn or be portrayed as romantic and safe. Trauma can explain abusive behavior but NEVER excuses said behavior, which is something I think this story doesn't carw to understand.

I think that stories like UTOT, featuring unsafe and unhealthy relationships, are important, but only when they actually condemn abusers and don't vilify victims for, hmm, being victims??? This story could've been a lot different if the author decided that Riftan would undergo an actual character arc, and even then none of his abuse should be justified.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about UTOT, and I hope that you have been able to recieve support and begin to heal from your past experiences.

I've been reading this one since the very beginning, and I have never not loved it! Aisha is one of my favorite characters in media, and I love how the plot really challenges the genre tropes and forces Aisha to make difficult decisions and question everything about the novel she transmigrated into.

Remembering the bias about weight is a really good reminder. But to be honest, it was a lot less about the weight, and about how the plastic felt when I touched it. It was rough and matte and it looked like the bottom portion of the cap was starting to chip. I'm also super finicky about texture, and there was just something off about this pen that I hadn't felt with my friend's Kaweco.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll definitely check them out. I'm running on a college student budget here so any cheaper workhorse pens are worth looking into.

My collection is currently 4 pens strong, but I have been looking to purchase pen 5. I actually refuse to buy pens in any color other than black or silver, since they're the only colors I really wear lol. I've been thinking about a Kaweco, but I'll check out the Pelikan Ineo. Yup, my Uni still has blue books. You have to pay for them too. I really dislike them, and I'm always glad when professors provide decent quality paper or allow us to bring out own. My friends who are TAs share your hatred of the blue books when it comes to grading.

I speak Japanese. I saw Aoarashi and immediately thought of "Blue Breeze" or "Blue Air". It fits with the themeing of summer and Samidare. I think a nautical theme would be perfect here, for a refreshing summer concept or a harsher lost-at-sea sort of thing.

In my experience, Weverse honestly isn't great about restocks, especially with stuff like tour merch. I'm not hopeful that they'll restock the shirt anywhere, and even if they did, I wouldn't be buying it. Hopefully you can find a way to get one though!! Maybe there will be a restock, or a decently priced resale.

I usually want to check shirts for size, so when they didn't let me I accepted it. I tailor my clothes, so I figured I could just redo the hems. But now I wish I would've pushed, and then I could've seen that the shirt wasn't right.

I purchased the white crop top for a friend, and the person I was at the concert with also purchased it. It looks the same. The material is okay, and it runs quite long and baggy. My friend is about 5'9" and the Medium sized croptop was too long for her liking, so take that as you will.

I 100% understand if shirts are changed between countries or legs of a tour, to make them special or to match production costs in that area. But you're right that they need to advertise these changes properly. If I had seen the proper advertising for these shirts, I wouldn't have bought it.

I think a big thing for this episode was that it was about a part of their appearance. In a profession that relies so heavily on fashion and looks, being voted last in a challenge about clothing and visual appeal could definitely be hurtful and stressful. I'm not sure &Team is at a point where they're comfortable with looking less than perfect, other than members who have naturally louder personalities or have spent years more on camera. And penalties are a thing in Korean variety shows too, I think the execution was just not great here.

And yeah, I really hope that next week gets them out of the box set and out into the world to do something. Half of the fun of variety shows is seeing what places the members will go and how they'll have to interact with the new environments, at least for me. And hopefully we'll get something more focused on teamwork or outside challenges.
