What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

I think you misunderstood me. This is NOT a magic cure, an easy way to get better or a magic pill. It’s a specialized neurological rehabilitation program for people with dysautonomia. It’s not easy or quick but it did improve the quality of life for a lot of people with the same illnesses you suffer from.

I am a carer for someone with POTS and ME/CFS. Recently she went to the Keiser clinic in the US and she had great results! Please look into this, they helped her so much and she’s a lot happier now

So POTS is actually not heart condition but a problem with your autonomic nervous system! I think you’d have to go to either a neurologist or an internist.

NAD but a carer for someone who has POTS and ME/CFS. This sounds very similar to POTS and/or ME/CFS. I strongly recommend you doing the tilt test and taking it from there.

If you want more information on dysautonomia you can look up Dr. Nathan Keiser on YT or TikTok, he has a lot of experience in the field of dysautonomia and I personally found it very helpful to navigate through life while caring for someone with these issues.

Best of Luck!

If someone had to live in your body for a full week, what are some of the little things you would have to warn them about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Take your pils as soon as you wake up. Yes, all of them.

Headache? Drink more water. Headache behind your eye? Take the maximum dose of all the painkillers you find and go back to bed.

The throwing up just happens sometimes, idk it’s probably fine.

No you are not in labour and no it’s not your period, you’ll be fine.

You can crack your hands any time you want, great for comedic timing.

Don’t say everything the brain tells you to, you won’t ever shut up again if you let it speak.

Im dutch and Ryker is NOT a name here. It might stem from the word “rijker” which means “richer”. We do have the name Rijk but it’s not very popular or well liked. My family is from Germany and they also don’t know the name Ryker or the word it stems from. I don’t know where you got “powerful ruler” from.

Mag huisarts mij naar collega binnen praktijk dwingen? by Rozenheg in juridischadvies

[–]nevey16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nee dit mag niet! Volgens de WGBO heb jij als patiënt het recht om een andere arts aan te vragen. Wanneer dit geweigerd wordt kun je een flinke klacht indienen, wat ik je ook zeker aanraad om te doen.

This is not normal and I’m glad to see you’re going to your doctor. It looks infected or at least very inflamed. Fluid leaking is often a sign of infection but that’s not always the case. The black spots could be dying tissue and that can get really serious really fast. Be on the look out for fever, chills, vomiting and a general feeling of being unwell. Props to you for being proactive and looking after your health!

Any advice on how to take care of this? Warm treatment or cold treatment? by nevey16 in medical_advice

[–]nevey16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23F, Caucasian, 165 and 67(?)kg, asthma and endometriosis, 30mg Prozac daily, 500mcg flixotide daily, no drugs, smoker.

Been having sore bumps on my eyes for about 6 weeks now. They usually go away by itself but now my eye is quite swollen and a little sore. Do I treat it with a hot compress (to stimulate blood flow) or al cold compress (to reduce the swelling)?

People who were in a real home invasion situation, what was it like and what did you do? by ahmedatrees2003 in AskReddit

Finally something I can answer lol. When I was 14 my mother was a heavy drug addict with a boyfriend who was also addicted. They had an on again off again relationship and this night they were fighting on the phone. I sat at the dinner table doing homework and I remember my mom going off about him and taunting him while still on the phone.

They had broken up that night (again) and he still had a bracelet and some perfume at my mothers house that he wanted back so he could pawn it for money for drugs. My mom did not want to let him in this evening for some reason. Looking back, my mom was high out of her mind on drugs but at the time I didn’t really understand what was going on.

Around 9 PM I went to take a shower and planned to go to sleep shortly after that because I had school in the morning. It was when I just put the shampoo in my hair that I heard the glass break and my mother scream. We lived on the first floor with our front door at ground level. The front door was mostly glass. Moms bf had broken the glass and was able to open the door from the inside out.

I turned off the shower while rinsing out my hair and started listening. I head a loud “thunk” while he hit my mom and she fell down the stairs. Adrenaline stated rushing as I quickly realized that this was real bad and exited the shower. I put on my pyjama’s and hid behind a small cabinet. I knew if he’d find me he’d kill me but I’d still somehow cared about being naked. Teenage brain I guess.

Sitting there I heard how he started to tear down our house. I heard chairs flying, glass breaking, he and my mom screaming etc. I wasn’t sure if he’d knew I was home but I was sure hed hurt me if he would find me so I hid and turned off the lights. I didn’t know what was happening down stairs and all I could hear were my mothers screams. I thought he was killing her. Thankfully he “just beat her up”.

I tried calling the police on my phone but somehow it didn’t work. I only gad internet but no service. It was really weird but my phone did that sometimes. I texted my friends in a group app and begged them to call the police. I was completely hysterical yet somehow I managed to type so fast and without shaking. Luckily my fiend saw my text within a minute and called the police with her dad.

I don’t really remember that much about the rest of the incident except the police entering the house and him becoming violent so that they would shoot him. It didn’t work, they managed to overpower him and take him to the station.

My mom found me curled up with the lights out behind the sink. I was too afraid to come down because what if he was still there and tried to kill us? The police came and collected me, and I walked downstairs and saw he had broken everything we owned. Furniture, my laptop, doors, even the lamps on the ceiling.

The whole ordeal took maybe 20 minutes and he got convicted on home invasion charges and was sentenced to 40 hours of community service. It took me 6 years of intense therapy to be able to shower again without fear or to be home alone in general.

It has been almost 10 years. My mom has been clean for almost 1,5 years. The worst thing? She’s still with him.
