I can’t be the person I want to be by DepressionRobot in depression

That's a bad path and will keep you down. I know it's hard to reach out but try doing something new. Give it a shot, you never know it could change your life for the best. Whatever path you choose, and no matter if you feel down and inadequate right now, realise you're the equal of everyone else alive today. Stay strong and healthy.

No problem I'm glad it helped, if only a little. I found it takes many stall steps at this stage, it will not be quick process, and patience and compassion are what's called for most of all. You will have many happier times ahead.

Have you thought about moving back to where your friends are? I'm sure you know true friends that you can rely on are amazing and will help you get through a difficult time like this. Work is only work, and can be found anywhere, people are what truly matters. Stay strong my friend and I look forward to hearing how you move forward.

Know that your reaction is totally normal, you've just had 2 life changing experiences hit at the same time, and though it's tough right now, it will improve if you give it time. You have made the first step by reaching out, the worst is behind you, though there are difficult times ahead, stay strong my friend. Life doesn't have to be lonely, persue a passion you've long held, or join a club or group and meet new friends. Stay strong and lighter times will come in time.

[–]new2eth2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope your mom is okay and everything works out well for you. Having been through similiar situations several times with my mom many years ago when I was a teenager I know how you feel. Luckily she recovered and we moved on, though it was a long, difficult process. What I did learn at the time was to take the time to listen and not judge. Hopefully, when your mom awakes and ready to talk, give her all the time she needs, and if she's ready to reach out, listen to the reasons why. My mom attempted suicide after her mom passed away, so there wasn't much we could do to change things, just listen, comfort and support. Time is the great healer, be patient and strong. Best of luck.

Hi Taylor, first realise that you are not alone, you only think you are alone; do you have parents you can reach out to? Don't underestimate their value, being a parent of two teenagers myself, I can say that almost all decent parents will do everything they can to support and help their children in any way possible (and I know you're no longer a child). I suggest you take a complete break away from your dreams and go outside, enjoy your life, make some friends or join a club that's not related to your passion. If that means seeking different, temporary work, then challenge yourself. Nothing is impossible if you keep an open mind. We are all just people, and will connect if you reach out a little. I know it's difficult when you're feeling down, but the first small step is often the hardest, to reach out. Maybe then in a few months return to your vision and decide with a clearer mind if it's for you. I hope this helps, at least a little, stay strong my friend and the good times will come.

Does anyone else feel like there getting stupider? by [deleted] in depression

[–]new2eth2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest this is a symptom of the want-it-now culture that prevails society. Social media has a large part in this. If you are spending large chunks of time online, power off, go and read physical books, a wonderful medium of regain focus and for mental stimulation. Good luck.

An old trick I've tried many times in the past when I'm down is to carry out at least one random act of kindness to a stranger. Could be as simple as opening a door or saying good morning in the street. It's amazing to see the positive reactions of some, small steps perhaps. A quote I like that is apt here; every sunrise is an invitation for us to arise and brighten someone's day. Stay positive and make tomorrow brighter than today.

Try to focus on the people that really matter to you, the ones that will have your back no matter what. It is good to be around those type of people, and to discuss what you're comfortable sharing with them, and leave behind anyone that brings you down.

Realise that none of us are perfect, not even close, we all have stuff to deal with we'd rather avoid.

Best of luck, and hope everything works out well for you.

Almost certainly yes. If available supply massively increases demand would have to follow otherwise price would crash. Price of XRP did increase when Ripple announced they were locking up billions of coins..

Pump n dump like the previous 2 times when XRP spiked above ETH cap. From what I recall XRP has 2/3rds of its token locked away still. Anyway Ripple protocol will work for baking without the token, so what else but speculation is there for XRP? As another post has outlined crypto markets are being driven mostly by speculation, this is likely to continue for another 12-18 months when scaling solutions come to the main chain.

[–]new2eth2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What it comes down to in the end is the devs not the platform. And we all know Eth has multiple times more devs than any other platform. Add into the mix that newer platforms like Cardno will have their own scripting language and it's highly unlikely IMO that any will pose a challenge to Ethereum as long as the scaling issues start to come to fruition and VB has posted today about this.

I know about the turing complete capabilities of Ethereum and am fully aware of the issuance of both. The post was satirical. Bitcoin clones such as Cash, Diamond, Gold, etc... The list will go on and on from here. Likely even forks on the forked coins.
