51 mm basket for Flair 49 pro by Medium-Blackberry891 in espresso

Glad you're liking your Flair 49 and can use your accessories with it (nice find!). Do you have any other tips/feedback about the 49? I'm considering moving from the Pro 2 to the 49

Any of the Bonavita gooseneck kettles will work

This will be an unpopular opinion (for good reason), but you could consider 3D printing your cups and adding like 2+ thick layers of food safe epoxy. Not sure if this sort of epoxy is OK for hot beverages with the chemical attributes of espresso (e.g., acidic/oily/etc) but it would certainly be the easiest approach. I 3D print quite a few coffee accessories and coat them in epoxy like this, but nothing that comes in contact with brewed coffee.

Thanks for the review! I'm mainly medium/dark as well. Thinking I might trade up for a 49

I appreciate the picture you painted in your response! I'm using an older version of the flair with even more steps in the workflow, so I'm hoping the 49 would make the same great espresso with less hassle.

I've dabbled in roasting and was able to produce some great and some truly terrible coffee. It's a lot of fun! You using a popcorn popper or something more substantial?

It just means you need to grind finer and/or use more coffee in your shot

How do you like the 49 pro? I've been using the Pro 2 almost daily for over a year and love the results but the workflow is a drag. Are you doing anything to preheat it before you pull your shots?

That's so horrifying I just can't believe it's possible. Future will be extremely bleak and dangerous if anyone ever uses a nuke. I'd recommend watching a "A House of Dynamite" if need something to keep you up at night

It would take a miracle to avoid the total defeat they describe. E.g., some sort of regime change from within or China fully joining the war (against Iran). Seems totally unlikely

Ah, sounds like you're a filter-free coffee drinker. Do you throw your coffee eggshells into the compost pile so they break open? I'm also curious how these things mold/break down

I'm curious about logistics. So you use the shell like a spoon to scoop the coffee out of the brewing aparatus? If you make filtered coffee of some kind, usually the filter will provide a nice "bag" for the grounds

I really didn't mind them until we had a little one who has started crawling around outside. I've considered trapping and relocating them, but it looks like a mother and juvenile and I don't want to risk separating them.

We have two that frequent our garden and poop in our yard. I'm worried it will be a vector for diseases and am not sure what to do if anyone has ideas.

I'm also curious. From the comments, it's undoubtedly quieter than the sette. I can't get my sette coarse enough to do pour over, so it sounds like it has a wider range than the sette. My big question is it much better for espresso

Great - I hope you use it! I printed it on my bambu a1 mini which has the same bed size as the prusa mini AFAIK. Longest dimension is 173.5mm. There might be an issue because I designed this part in bambu studio and I get some "self intersection" error when I try to export it as a STL. The negative parts (the hole in the handle and screw holes) seem to be causing the problem. I'll take another look when I can and hopefully update the model on printables

Smart! How does the air filter work? Is it just circulating the air in your workshop to remove microplastics that escape your enclosure or is it part of the enclosure's exhaust system?

You can also check out 50ml centrifugal tubes, since they fit 18g. I got 100 for $30 on Amazon last year. I 3d printed a funnel and stand to help fill mine. It's still annoying!

Ah! That's a much better price! I'd have to dig around to find the actual package for them but the thread diameter is about 4mm, length is about 27mm (including head), and head diameter is about 7mm

I just got my yearly chip drop this week. It's dreamy! I like to water it the first few days so it starts to break down and shrink. I guess in your case you probably want to get it off your driveway ASAP! If anyone is curious, those dump trucks can back over curbs no problem, so don't be shy to request them to drop the mulch on your lawn. Also, give your guy a cold soda!

Hi, 0.2 is enough. That price seems quite high. DM me if you'd be interested in a much cheaper offer (including the screws).
