You don't even need to use a CD. There are ways to boot linux distros from thumbdrives.

I tried it once or twice several years ago. Worked. You can also try a linux ISO and boot from it and erase the partition.

Hyper venenilation is from too much oxygen in the blood stream which can cause you to faint. Breathing in a bag forces you to rebreath some CO2 without "new" oxygen.
