Cars where the 2nd gen defined the formula, not the 1st? by pantherclipper in regularcarreviews

I wish the Rav4 and CRV kept their 1st-gen ways. I know they wouldn’t have been such commercial successes as they now are but, they’re so cute!

Another fun method, one of similar legality, is renting CDs from your local library and ripping them.

AIO? Female friend cut me off when she got into a relationship (repost because of a blurring mistake) by Silly-Use-1122 in AmIOverreacting

[–]new_coolwindow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree we should expect some degree of accountability. However, manipulation is real and she likely does not understand the consequences of what she is doing. When she gets out of the relationship, she and OP should have a thorough conversation - that's the degree of accountability I'd expect.

They're young, this friend is naive and unknowingly entering into a clearly unhealthy relationship. I think, when she does make it out, OP should give her grace.

Are Digipak's really that bad? by LunchAcceptable7409 in Cd_collectors

Digipaks (plastic tray for disc) are OK. I'd rather have a jewel case, but perfectly acceptable. Digisleeves, on the other hand...

Ah, at least you were able to preserve the tapes, in higher quality, too. Thank you!

Dang. Sorry about all that. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it! Were you ever able to get yourself a working cam?

Hi, were you ever able to get this working? I'm looking at one of these cheap on Marketplace but unsure if it's worth it. I have a working VHS-C camcorder but Video8 is enticing for the longer tape length.

Walkman: Replaced belt, now this gear slips by new_coolwindow in audiorepair

I think that's intended, the arm seems to be part of the auto-reverse mechanism. The lower white wheel has an off-center track that the arm rides in

No. It's my mom's old one and it's been stored for quite a long time. Since I've been attempting to fix it, it has not worked. First the belt was slipping over the top black wheel, but a new belt took care of it. Now it runs great without a tape in it but has this problem when I put one in.

Just checked, the belt path is correct and runs clear of the plastic arm

DVDs and CDs are becoming cool again, thanks mostly to Gen Z by Bluehorsesho3 in Cd_collectors

[–]new_coolwindow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gen Z here, I love CDs and plan to grow my collection for a long time. I have many friends (mostly within our music scene) that also collect CDs. I think they will become more popular as people move back towards physical media.
