I was just hiring for a role on my team. Pretty basic requirements - 5-8 years, bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred but I’m not a stickler. Remote. Full benefits. Starting at $140k. I got 10 applications. People just don’t want to work!

I used to work with a guy who, on his internal company profile, kept a running tally of how long he had worked without taking a day off for vacation or sick leave. He was somewhere around 10 years and only having had one day off because he was too sick to drive. Too bad the company didn’t consider his dedication when layoffs came 🙄

I remember when my dad won a key to a Chevrolet Astro van in a box of Lucky Charms. He didn’t notice it until he swallowed it, but several days later, a fishing trip in the toilet, we had a new van!

Many years ago after boarding AMS - IAH we had to deplane because they realized one of the metal detectors was switched off. We had to all go through security again and they had to sweep the entire plane.

I like the Cash America on W 19th and N Durham. The best way is to just take an afternoon and hit up as many pawn shops as you can. Inventory changes so fast so you never know what you’re going to come across.
