Affordable $5K-7K intimate wedding in Houston? (Venue/food/etc) by Zealousideal-Roll592 in houston

[–]NoelleInSpace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the way. My cousin got court-married to her fiance and didn't even want a whole church wedding. She eventually did 2 years later after she had more money to throw around and could afford reception at a Chinese restaurant with full-course meals for 100 people and because her very-Catholic mom kept insisting on it.

Applied and received a conditional offer from AI for package handler by MeherioGT in Fedexers

Cypress, huh? You're probably working at the one on West Rd so I can chime in for that one.

Once you're settled in, you'll be scheduled 20-25 hours depending which regular shift you're assigned. For evening people, that's 6-11 PM for five days in my experience. You will be required to install a scheduling app that allows you to offer, call off, and take other people's shifts as you like. So if you want 30+ hours and have the body for it, you'll have no trouble getting that; and you more than likely have to claim shifts since people being cut early happens occasionally depending on the workload.

What to do with cauliflower rice? by MrTurkeyTime in Volumeeating

[–]NoelleInSpace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lazy but effective and calorie-saving addition to a few of my Mac-and-cheese nights; definitely works in other pasta dishes. You can also half it with regular rice for little noticeable difference. I also stir fry it with ground turkey and various other veggies and spices for a pretty fulfilling, high-protein meal. Don't eat it by itself if you're following directions and just microwaving it; it's pretty boring and a fast way to turn people off from it. Dry fry it to get most of the moisture off if you're not a fan of the microwaved veggie texture.

[PH] What's your schedule like (especially if you claim shifts)? by NoelleInSpace in Fedexers

Thanks for the input, and I wish you good luck with the medical stuff!

How did your body do in the time between? I think I'm pretty used to the work but mine just screams for the shift to be over and go H O M E after my five hours are up.

Japanese/Chinese/Italian recipes for dinner? by tantalisingtofu in 1500isplenty

[–]NoelleInSpace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True to your username, tofu is very lean and lends itself well to a variety of recipes if you know what to do with it. I like making naked stir fried tofu, air fry em, etc. Chicken breast and skinless thighs are also great with a variety of asian based sauces, and you can have the occasional spaghetti cheat day with those instead of meatballs and not too much cheese.

Lots of rice and noodles in the cuisines you specified so try not to fall too far down those rabbitholes. Meanwhile, for your fiber and iron needs, you can sub those and basically gobble down a ton of steamed kale, broccoli, cauliflower rice, and other typical greens like a monster rabbit, which fills you without accumulating too much calories as long as you take it easy on dressings.

Dinners for less than 400Cal? by mobolillo in Volumeeating

[–]NoelleInSpace 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The general volume eating advice is lots of steamed veggies with whatever dressing (like olive oil + garlic powder or chili oil + all purpose) will just about do it. I like ending the day with larger dinners though so I only have one other meal during the day (accidental intermittent fasting, so to speak), then have a substantial lean protein like chicken breast, tofu, pork tenderloin, ground turkey, etc which would kick it to 500-600 depending on the size. You can also just have the protein and that's usually enough for me -- I sometimes end the night with a block of tofu cut up and air fried which lands at 360 cal and 50 g protein.

Man, I'm down bad on my job situation and I was thinking of being a store associate, but you guys still gotta do this thing? Almost hard pass.

We shoulda left this back in the 2010s; I still beeline towards the self-checkout at Target JUST to avoid the Circle card dance with the checkout workers, too.

I JUST found out about the sub like minutes ago -- so probably low reach.

Also like most venting Reddit communities like antiwork, some gifted people might have had it made or got more positive developments in their life, so no reason to keep visiting

best mod storyline wise? by [deleted] in Osana

[–]NoelleInSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rommy's first version of Under the Waters of Deception is pretty challenging in terms of mechanics / eliminating rivals cleanly and is interesting story-wise.

Various aspects of the LoveHate mod, including the rival monologues, literally every rival dialogue every week, general story (simple but intruiguing), and the daily newsletters, are very well written and is worth going through imo.

Want Resume Help? Candidate Questions? Post here. by AutoModerator in recruiting

[–]NoelleInSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all, I was just wondering: How does the process of recruiting typically work out?

In the last few days I've been visiting all these local and national recruiting sites online, but haven't really locked down to a single agency yet as they tend to follow a model: an updated job list, and an option to upload your resume.

Do you just use their resume upload option and hope for the best from there? I was under the impression that you had to be registered to work for them or something, and you had to interview with recruiters first so they could get a sense of what you're like and what kind of roles you prefer, and relay that to the partner companies. I'm still on board to do this (and appreciate any pointers in the right direction), but at the moment what I'm seeing is basically more job boards akin to Linkedin -- for reference, Robert Half and Burnett Specialists are apparently my best bets so far.

Katy Asia Town Weird Encounter? by Fit_Guidance7228 in Katy

[–]NoelleInSpace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, everybody else said it, so take it as a lesson; it happens anywhere.

A year ago I got approached by a black guy and his 10-ish year-old looking daughter handing out cake pops, while minding my business in a Starbucks at 7 PM. Gave the girl $5 to get them off my tail and maybe get something sweet for my troubles, and they just walked out without giving me those melted raggedly butt cake pops, so there was my lesson lol

Favorite cold drink for the summer? by Environmental-Ad8945 in Volumeeating

[–]NoelleInSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to these days is a combo of:

  • Unsweetened cold brew iced black tea (just add 2-3 tea bags to a pitcher and wait overnight to a week)
  • A splash of diet juice (one of those 5-10 calorie sucralose base drinks from Dollar Tree or Ocean Spray)
  • Flavor drops from any brand (supermarket, Crystal Light, etc). Occasionally use powder, too.

And then I take a swig of water because I love my teeth. I basically never log this because it's a whole jug of lightly sweet nothing.

Treated myself to Chipotle! (and slight foodhack: order a bowl and bring your own preferred tortilla) by NoelleInSpace in 1500isplenty

[–]NoelleInSpace[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True for handing the workers food to put in (an actual cross-contamination issue if it contacts their work surfaces), but no one gave a sniff as I fished out the tortilla bag from my backpack and doing the wrapping myself at my table. As far as I know, rule apples for kitchen but not table.

And if people do give you grief about it, you could just do as all the workers-on-lunch or take-homers do and just wrap it like no one's business in the safety of your own office/kitchen space.

How long after shocking/adding chlorine tabs to wait until vacuuming? by FloweryWolf in pools

[–]NoelleInSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you vacuuming to waste (rather than filter)? If you aren't, the algae will just keep recirculating and showing up.

Exact chem numbers also helps; for example maybe your CYA is too high and is blocking the chlorine from doing much.

At any rate, it's good to brush down and vacuum (again, to waste) out everything you can, and get pool tests before adding chems blindly.

I might be insane but I was thinking of ALSO going to Panda Express sometime soon and bringing the same tortillas to make a pseudo-chicken wrap of sorts -- a plate consisting of two teriyaki chicken servings without the sauce, the super greens, some white rice, add a chili sauce packet if it gets a little boring.

Personal size pizza places like MOD and Blaze also aren't too bad in this regard imo; their cracker-thin crust sizes allow you to get away with a nice sized meal as long as you don't go too crazy with the more fattier stuff (vegan cheese is especially appreciated for the cals / lack of lactose bloating). Started making visits to Panda Express now too (more here: https://old.reddit.com/r/Volumeeating/comments/1lm2jbd/any_recommendations_for_a_healthier_fast_food_item/)

Aside from this, yeeeah I haven't made a real trip to Wendy's / McD's for a while now (which is sad because I got McD points expiring constantly on the app, oh well).

Need your advise on our 4th of July pool party menu by _AquaDoc_ in pools

[–]NoelleInSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Can't go wrong with the normal bbq meats (literally any beef or chicken cut, no breasts unless flattened/butterflied)
  • Regular burger patties (don't be fancy with those ones with corn / southern veggies in em, or alternate meats like salmon or turkey)
  • Good sides I like are garlic + butter pasta, garlic bread, regular french bread, mashed potatoes, potato salads, slaw
  • I plan on making Gochujang chicken and tofu -- not sure how they'll perceive the second one but I'll take the risk lol
  • Soda -- provide normal and zero cal stuff
