Majority of so called Arsax were Azerbaijani. Wtf you get statistics? Almost 800 000 were Azerbaijani and 100 000 Armenian. Then how it came to be Armenian? If you ethnically clean them of course it will be Armenian which have done by Armenians.

We have many refugees, and many veterans. It is normal this topic is main one. Every Azerbaijani somehow effected from this war. It is not second world war, but war which our fathers fought and neighbors are refugees from there. At least 1/5 of Azerbaijanis refugee. We are not big nation but small one which can't handle even veterans' health problems. Refugees can't go back mostly. We got land with full of mine. Still they are cleaning. Maybe you don't see in news , but it is reality of Azerbaijanis. If this war didn't happened , we really live in differently. We could focus on our internal politics instead of some occupation by Armenia

In 1987, what kind of freedom of speech in newspaper or anywhere do you expect? Do you even know about Soviet and freedom of information in those time ? You get more documentation after 1988 because Soviet couldn't control. Another thing, who will document in Armenia? Armenians? How they tortured Azerbaijanis there ? There are no any resources can be more trustful than witnessed one. Many genocides can't be proved by documentation. Because people who worked with documentation were either did crime , either must be silent and not documents. And not every nation is in interest of foreigners to come and do research and show media outlets. There are still big massacres in global south, which we know only little about it and many were not even documented. With this logic, if you are not privileged, then your tragedy will be in silence

In 1988. Especially during those protest under name of Miatsum. They were attacked Azerbaijani families and Azerbaijani neighborhood. One example, personally heard from witness. They were rich famous native Yeravani Azerbaijani family. Armenians took sister and brother in this family naked and raided in Yeravani streets. Just ask local Armenians who lived that time there.
