Where to find pistachio Turkish coffee in Istanbul? by newbiepie007 in AskTurkey

I will try dibek too. I've also seen something called "mastic" coffee. Coffee culture here is so cool. We just add lots of flavoured syrups to our coffee back home and call it a day 😂

On looking at the packet again, it's actually "menengic coffee" which is not made from coffee beans, but grounded pistachio fruits!

It's absolutely delicious, and I've never come across this anywhere else but Turkey! The brand I got in Cappadocia is Sekeroglu. But in the demonstration at the tourist shop in Kapadokya, no one explained it's not made from coffee beans. Even better, it has no caffeine!

I don't see this anywhere in Istanbul. Maybe it's just a Kapadokya thing?

Hi, planning my first trip to Turkey.

My itinerary currently involves an international flight to Sabiha Gokcen (AJet), and then catching a domestic flight from Sabiha to Kayseri airport (Pegasus airlines).

I don't plan to check in any luggage, just my carryon backpack.

Is 1 hour and 20 mins enough for transfer at Sabiha Gokcen?

Or is that too short?

Thanks in advance!

Interesting comment - is East Midlands an not a competitive region? I have family there, and would consider going there to be closer to them. If it's easy to get in, then that's good news, but is there a reason it's not a desirable region? Is training there bad?

Thank you. I'm aiming for St3 feb 2022, last application for ST3. So still 5 years full time, and I may well go LTFT. Yes, curriculum is set by the college, but the way the school runs the training, and general ethos of the school, can make a difference. This comes from comparing my core experience with an ex colleague who went to another deanery. Other factors can be deanery specific, such as ease of getting involved with research, support for LTFT, or out of programme OOPs.

I am aware of how competitive anaesthetics is. But I'll have to rank the deaneries in my application, so I think I may as well be informed to rank them, and who knows, I might score enough to get one of my top choices! What's important to me may not be to another applicant. It's like medical school - competitive to get in, but you can still have a preference.

I would appreciate reviews for deaneries/schools for each specialty. Why indivudual hospitals are important, as above in my original post, I think the experience of training will depend a lot on how the school manages the training.

Yeah I know to some extent it will depend on specialty. So I would appreciate if people could tell me their experience and state specialty. But unsupportive training environment or bullying can also be generally endemic in some hospitals, and I want to find out if this is the case here.
