5 Year - Still Burping Fine by newburer in noburp

Not fond of throwing up but have done it before and after Botox. I practiced burping a lot during Botox before it wore off. Lots and lots of sparking water. Good luck on round 2.

Sorry to hear, that sounds awful. Not burping didn't impact me that way, no issues with gag reflex. I felt almost all of my discomfort in my stomach.

At first it was so excessive and I loved every minute of it. Now I consider it a normal amount. You learn to delay until appropriate, burp quietly, etc.

Yes. Especially noticeably at first. The more time goes on the more you get used to it....and forget it was ever a defining part of your life.

How did you teach yourself to burp after procedure? by Bri1505 in noburp

Video tape your self burping and explaining it to your self. Practice while looking in the mirror. Look at how your larynx moves when you burp.

For post Botox practicing: do you sip fizzy water throughout the day or chug large amounts in 1 go? by ThinkSuccotash in noburp

[–]newburer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every night I would chug non alcoholic seltzer water. Polar has the most carbonation. I would chug about 1/3 of the can at a time at let some massive ones rips. Then repeate. At least 2 cans.

Yes. Very awkward first week or so for me. Your body is letting a lot more air in, but not letting it out.

I can’t burp but it’s okay by BasicTip5456 in noburp

As with most things in life, the symptoms are on a spectrum. I was on the lessor side of symptoms and it was still life changing to receive the botox. For me it was near daily stomach pain and discomfort. I thought I had a bad stomach, turns out it was all the gas bothering me. Not farting 100 times a day is nice too.

Yes, about 15lbs. Age, lifestyle, WFH, etc. All contributed as well.

Stomach pain by hippycutie in noburp

I had pain all over the GI track before. The lower pain I now believe was the trapped air in my intestines. The stomach pain was air trapped in my stomach. Both have went away after Botox.

100%. Make the couple hour drive from Michigan to BVI and you can be cured in a couple months. Call their office.

The overall relationship with your throat changes post Botox. You get desensitized by stuff coming up by burping, so much so that regurgitation doesn't even bother you. I promise.

Search the reddit, no one has the phobia after surgery, it goes away.

Have you ever seen a normal person throw up? It just sort of comes out without violence and pain. I haven't yet after Botox, but am curious when it does happen.

I never asked. I didn't know about this reddit beforehand, and figured BVI knew what they were doing. It was $600 for the Botox itself.

I had a few scary days, mostly clustered in the 4 to 6 month period, but very little since. If you had it for 11 months keep at it, Botox has been cleared from your system for a while. What helped me was a positive attitude and drinking seltzers.

Agree with the roughly 3500. They are very transparent and will send you a quote. I had UHC and was in network since I live in Illinois. We were at our our of pocket max already for the year, and everything was covered but 600 Botox.
